Lesbian Gang Raped in Northern CA, suspected hate crime
On December 13, a 28 year-old lesbian in Richmond, CA was gang raped by four men who saw the rainbow sticker on her rear bumper. The men approached the woman yelling slurs about her sexual orientation and then hit her in the head with a blunt object. They forced her to disrobe then raped her in the street. The four men then forced her into her car and drove to a private location where they raped her for nearly an hour. After the rape, the men dumped the woman in the street and drove off in her car.
The woman sought help from a nearby residence and was taken to a local hospital. The police recovered her car in Richmond two days later. But for some reason, this brutal hate crime wasn’t released to the press until December 20th.

I don’t know this poor woman, but there’s no way she can go back to work any time soon. She’s got to be burning through her sick days.
I want to help this sister out. If you have a little extra cash, consider giving her a little help. If 200 people donate 10$ each, then she’ll be able to take a few more weeks off work and not have to worry about the rent.
Community Violence Solutions of Richmond (formerly the Rape Crisis Center) has set up an account for the victim. Persons interested in making donations should make their checks out to “Community Violence Solutions.” On the memo portion of the check they must write “Richmond Jane Doe.” The checks can then be mailed to:

I know not everyone has extra money, especially this time of year. But our sister needs more than just money – she needs to know that she’s not alone.
Consider sending her a Christmas card or a Get-Well card filled with kind words. Cards and well-wishes can be sent to the following address:
