Summary: After Falin's resurrection, she and Marcille have a conversation about it
Notes: Written for prompt #29 - Bone for
“Since you were able to revive me…” Falin asked, a little hesitantly, as they laid together after the battle, “does that mean that the dragon hadn’t digested me yet?”
“Ah- no,” Marcille replied. “I had to put your skeleton back together,”
Falin nodded, a bit disturbed. While she was no stranger to handling bones herself, it was odd to think that Marcille had been moving about Falin’s own bones, the ones that made up her own body, that were under her skin and flesh right now. And speaking of flesh… “If you had to remake my skeleton… does that mean the rest of my body- ?”
“Was gone,” Marcille finished. “I had to use the dragon flesh in order to revive you.”
“...So you couldn’t just use a normal healing spell.”
“No.” Marcille shook her head. “I had to use black magic in order to bring you back.”
Instead of responding, Falin simply stared up at the ceiling. Before her death, she had sometimes wondered what lengths Marcille would go to for her. It seems that she now had her answer.
