Blast from the past

Well there's a thing; slightly surprised that LJ still exists, let alone that MY LJ still exists! Anyone still around that notices this, give me a shout!

Reply to this post, and I'll tell you one reason why I like you. Then repost this and spread the love.

Progress

I have (with assistance) just laid my first section of carpet in my new place.
There's a hell of a lot to do, but this little milestone has me unreasonably optimistic :)

Long time no post...

Well, since I'm snowed in today and at somewhat of a loose end, I thought I'd post something - for the first time in almost 10 months, it seems! Think I may start posting more frequently again, we shall see.

In the last 10 months I have, among other things:

Stuff Wot I have DunCollapse )

In more interresting news,
How Is Everyone? What have YOU been up to this year?
I know what I've been up to, but writing the list above made me think about a few things in a way I hadn't before. Maybe it will for you too?
Anyone else who's at a loose end (due to snow or otherwise), feel free to leave me a comment with a quick list-type rundown of the things that come first to mind when you look back at your year - even if it's things I already know about. It may make ou see the year in a new light!

Comments screened in case anyone has anything to impart which they don't want to be common knowledge, but will be unscreened unless you ask me keep them hidden :)

(no subject)

Last night, while stripped to the waist and covered in foam, I was told by a young lady that I looked like an Elf from Lord of the Rings.

That's not something you can say every day.

Ah Canterbury - you're a strange, strange place and I love you dearly

Long time no post...

...but a good one to return to LJ with:

Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Becky!

Have just returned from the wedding reception of Mr Anthony Burton and Mrs Rebecca Burton, née Bates. A wonderful couple, who I wish every happiness for a long future together.

Also, I have never headbanged so much at a wedding.

The world has changed...

...apparently. I don't feel much different, to be honest.
However, I do have hopes. I hope the Great Man Himself comes somewhere near living up to the hype; and I have hopes that people won't hold it against him when he doesn't meet up to all of it, or at least not right away.

I hope he really means what he says about wanting to make a change for the better - and I hope his fellow countrymen realise how tough a job he has pushing against all that inertia, and have patience.
