Pureblood Pride

Would anyone be interested in helping me mod this community and purebloodtest? Please shoot me an e-mail if you would be interested. Please include a few lines on what you'd like to see happen in this community as well as how you feel about purebloods in the books. I don't want to mod any nutters.

Additionally, I would adore suggestions of what sort of things you would like to see this community be used for. "You" here meaning "anyone who would like to join." It seems a shame for this community to sit about unused, but I'm scratching my head wondering what exactly we could do with it. Comments welcome and appreciated! Thanks!

What did everyone think of Order of the Phoenix? Particularly that showdown at the ministry? Better or worse than the book?

Share any thoughts on the Black family, the Malfoys, things you missed, things you loved, or anything else about the movie here. (I'll add my thoughts in a comment later.)

Goodness, this community is dead. Well, I'm not having it. Now is the most exciting time possible for HP fans, so it seems a good time to kick this place back into action. Please note the following:

1. I have filled out the application for this community myself, and you can see my answers here. It would be lovely if all current members could fill this out as well when they have a moment, and post it to purebloodtest. You will receive fifty points for doing so.

2. Spoiler Policy: Absolutely no spoilers for DH may be posted until.. well, probably some time in August. If you are going to post a spoiler, place it behind an lj-cut, clearly labeled. Spoiler-containing comments should be limited to spoiler-labeled entries, or else you must make some effort to ensure that no one will be caught unawares. ( Collapse )

3. I will be revising the structure for this community once we get more members. (Please feel free to recruit!) For now, the five current members - alabastardragon, londra, owakoblack, platinum_malfoy and wicked_bella - will be given the to-be-refined honourary title of Old Hats for your loyalty in clinging to this poor, sad little comm. If any of you wish to become moderators, please send me an owl and we can discuss. New members will start out as "New Blood" and work their way up by gaining points. (Any of the 37 individuals currently watching the community who apply and are accepted will also get 20 points and will skip from New Blood to the next level, once I determine what that is.)

4. I am going to make a seperate post for OotP film discussion, so we can keep this one spoiler-free.

My, this community has been dead for some time. (I bet you're all very surprised to hear from me, aren't you?) It appears our other mod has disappeared, as has our rival community, mudbloods. Ah, well.

Changes are afoot. I would really love to make this community into something worthwhile. So I'm starting now. Eventually I'd like to have a nice layout and everything, but we're starting with baby steps.

Previously this community has had open membership. We briefly discussed changing that, but I never did anything about it. Well, that's changing now. Following the example of lovely communities like slytherin, we will now require an application to join. Why? Because purebloods are elite, idiot. What does this mean for current members?

If you wish to remain a member of this community, you must reply to this post explicitly stating so within one week or you will be removed.

That means you have until next Thursday at noon. (If you have a friend in this community who would would like to say and does not have us on their watch list, I recommend you alert them to this change.) If you do not request to remain in this community prior to the deadline, you will have to go through the application process like anyone else.

On that note, the new application journal is purebloodtest. Please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions for the application template. I'm more concerned with people demonstrating that they can form coherent sentences and aren't idiots than anything else.

It makes me sad that this journal has turned into a spamfest for other communities. I don't blame anyone for taking it off their watch list. But hopefully we can turn this into something we can be proud to be members of. (After this initial change/resort gets settled, I'll probably start looking for a co-mod or two to help me run things.)

What say ye - especially tviokh and the people who actually watch this journal regularly - of making this a closed community? That is, requiring an application of some sort to become a member. I really don't want to be reduced to the stupidity prevalent in comms such as slytherin and more recently in dracomalfoys, but it seems letting in idiots is the only way to generate posts. What a dilemma.

Those who are already members would, of course, remain members. At least so long as you don't go making asses of yourselves. (And, of course, uchidachi can stay on as the resident mudblood muggle-born spokesperson. Because we all need someone to remind us that things could have been worse - we could have been born to muggles. Ugh.)

I have a question, pureblood is only wizards or can also be a magical creature (veela, incubus, sucubus,fairy,etc) with a wizard? Because in my own twisted mind it is the second.
