A Frivolous Effort

hanging out, not posting much art anymore | 19

hi am going to show you a very cheap and very filling meal that you can make in bulk in less than 5 mins. americas government has said "fuck you" to us once again and i dont want anyone going hungry so here is a recipe that i am obsessed with

you can use any kind of oats you like. instant oats, rolled oats, it doesnt matter. you also do not have to use chia seeds but i recommend them because not only does it add to the texture but it makes this meal even more filling.

i did not have chia seeds because i ate them all so just imagine there are chia seeds in here

if all you have is oats, that is perfectly fine it will still taste amazing. but if you can afford it, add anything you like. i really like bananas so i added some banana. you can add a sweetener as well. i added maple syrup. peanut butter is a good option too for added fats that will keep you full longer

now add a liquid. you need enough liquid for the chia and oats to soak up. if dairy is out of your budget, do plain water. but if you have spare tea bags lying around, steep your tea, chill it, then add it to the mixture. i did kefir for mine because it adds a richness and its full of vitamins

now blend it! blend it until its all smooth. no lumps or bumps! you may eat this as soon as youve blended it, but if you do, you wont get the absolutely amazing texture if you wait 30+ minutes

it is just.... utterly divine. its blended overnight oats. thats the recipe. but oh my god. it's better than any overnight oats youve ever had in your entire life. its like a decadent dessert. i cant get enough of it!! and its SO. FILLING.

please stay safe and utilize free food pantries!

i am sending you all good vibes

Wait I'm sorry if this is a really daft question, but can you elaborate more on what "taking ownership of our role in the greater British empire" means?

So my view is that independence for Scotland all boils down to responsibility. We want to be responsible for our own decisions and how we look after the people who choose to make this country their own.

The Scottish Independence Movement pre-devolution were portrayed by unionists as people who had let Braveheart go to their head.

The idea was that campaigning for Scottish independence was based on a manufactured misrepresentation of history and that we all harboured grievances that Scotland was oppressed by England.

Being told that was actually what they believed had an effect on some pro-independence folk early on took a 'Scotland never did anything wrong' stance.

That is both wrong, and incredibly misguided because other impressionable politics enthusiasts around the world adopted the whole 'Scotland never did anything wrong and it was all England'.

Which over the past 10 years since the referendum has made it incredibly difficult to be pro-independence online. Because pro-independence 'progressives' (and right-wing bad actors) who have never lived in Scotland have played up this stance and made it more difficult for us to have conversations.

TL;DR - Scottish independence is about responsibility. That means taking ownership of everything we did in regards to global colonisation and the slave trade. People arguing we didn't (supposedly on our behalf) are harming the independence movement.

i've been thinking about the incident at the baftas like. all day. mostly because that's the moment where the joy drops and you see how tired lindo & jordan are. that's a generational sort of tired.

and it was an institutional failure. subjective but i think being warned for "offensive language" doesn't even touch the history of the n word. half-assed apologies more centered around grace to davison (who, granted, cannot control his tics) but no apology to delroy lindo and michael b jordan from bafta (at the time of writing i hadn't seen bafta's apology) or davison. bbc (and e! news in the us) not bleeping. people using this moment to be antiblack or ableist. it's a shitshow from the top down

pls support trans girls and trans women who like traditionally masculine things

no seriously please reblog this ive seen so many posts saying to support trans boys and trans men who like traditionally feminine things and those posts are good!! i love them!!

but i have never in my life seen a post saying to support masculine trans girls and trans women or trans girls and trans women who like traditionally masculine things and its really important to understand that showing support for trans women in any form is just as important as showing support for trans men so please, please reblog this.

support trans women and trans girls. support trans women and trans girls who like traditionally masculine things. trans women and trans girls who like traditionally masculine things are not any less valid than trans women and trans girls who don’t!!

"racism is nowhere near as bad in the uk as the united states" then Why do you people have race riots everytime a nonwhite person is suspected of a crime

im saying this as a lesbian who has comfort male characters we need to eradicate the idea that every single lesbian looooves fictional men or has a fictional man they would let hit or whatever it feels very gross and rapey but you ppl r trying to disguise it on a more unserious level like well no many dykes just want all men fictional or real dead and that’s beautiful so everyone Fuck Off

the way that white boys get completely brain washed by their media catering to them to the point that they act incredulous to artistic depictions of people with multiple marginalizations is so revealing. like laughing at art of a black nonbinary person in a wheelchair as if people fitting that description dont exist irl because they've been so pandered to by their video games, I dont think they even realize how much they're telling on themselves

I have a certain fondness for transfem Spock and butch Kirk whose world immediately improved when she started taking T.

Them lesbians crazy /pos.

I have been enjoying seeing people experience food this World Cup

The person who wrote this has almost certainly never been to Japan- if they had, they would know that Japanese restaurants also offer table appetizers in many contexts. Some of them? Mexican restaurants. You can get free tortilla chips when you eat Mexican food in Tokyo Osaka Kobe Kyoto and rural HIMEJI for fuck’s sake. Those are just places where I’ve personally had free tortilla chips in Japan.

This is chat gpt trash prompted to “sound Japanese” and it’s based off of racist old movie dialogue. There’s zero correlation here to Japanese grammar and how Japanese translates into English or how a native speaker of Japan uses English. It’s slop. It’s racist ai slop rehashing Western exceptionalism, fantasizing about a Japanese person being in awe of how great the USA is. It’s depressing that people fell for this. I know it feels good to think that other people like us, and sometimes they do, but this only works if you assume Japanese people have extremely limited experience and worldview. It’s mortifying.

If someone other than me would push back against this propaganda, it would be nice.

What is it with Pride events and ableist micro aggressions?

There’s been so many but my main ask would be for people to please stop sticking random stickers on my wheelchair tray without asking (or worse, asking and doing it anyway even when I said no). I am exhausted and now I have to buy rubbing alcohol to get them off.

yk guys I think a lot of ppl when arguing against the death penalty go for a like "people don't deserve death, etc" view and I get why ppl argue for that I rly do! but it doesn't matter. I don't trust the government to do it, I don't trust them to decide who should die, I don't trust them to determine who is mentally competent, I don't trust them to not be bigoted and discriminatory in their practices, I don't trust them to have the right people, I don't trust them to execute it in a humanitarian way. and I've had discussions with ppl who otherwise have similar viewpoints to me in many ways but can think of people they think deserve to die, and I think if abolishing the death penalty is like, a super important cause to u the same way it is to me, the argument u use shouldn't be "well these people deserve to live" (although in some cases I think yeah the death penalty is done to people who totally don't "deserve it") because that's so subjective, it should be "do you trust the government to do it?" like, do you trust the people who cant even fill potholes on your road to determine who should and should not live

i understand that it's unreasonable to expect a band on world tour to play in every country in the world but i do think they should only be allowed to call it a world tour if they play in every continent. we need to make it embarrassing to say world tour and then not even step foot in africa
