Creating Your Account To log into your account, type your phone number and select “U.S.” for the country your organization is in. Tap the blue “Continue” button when you have finished. Verifying Your Phone Number You will receive a text message from RAVE with a six digit number. Type the six digit code in the appropriate space and select the check box to agree to the terms and conditions. Tap the blue “Continue” button to proceed to the next step.If you do not receive a text message within 30 seconds, choose the Resend Code option and try again. Selecting Your Organization If your information is correct, “Cornell University” should be selected as your organization. Tap the blue “Continue” button to go to the next step.If there is an issue, repeat steps #1 and #2 and make sure your information is correct. Verifying Your Information Verify that the information shown is correct , including your name , phone number , and Cornell University e-mail address.Tap the blue “Yes” button to complete the login process.If there is an issue and the information shown does not belong to you , select “No this is not me” and attempt the process again. Location Preferences Location Alerts allow the RAVE Guardian app the permission to track your device.You can allow it to track your location all the time, only while using the app, or never. In order to use the Safety Timer/Safe Walk feature, you must allow the app to track your location. Free Space Permissions RAVE Guardian will ask whether you’d like to enable the “Free Up Space” permission. If you choose “On” : The app may automatically reduce its storage footprint. However, if you don’t use RAVE Guardian regularly, this could result in missed alerts or notifications. If you choose “Off” : Your current settings will remain unchanged , and all alerts and notifications will continue as usual. Push Notifications You can choose to enable or disable push notifications to your phone. Enabling will allow you to receive emergency alerts and important push notifications (crime alerts, weather alerts, etc.) directly to your home screen.By disabling notifications , you will not receive push notifications on your home screen.
