Why not Daisy? Resurrected by powers and sciences unknown, your favorite pet takes on a new form with full capabilities of tearing your enemies, all to protect you and wipe out evil with great prejudice, wielding a fan favorite sword!

2.) @ShallowB on the DoomWorld Forums for telling me about a glaring issue this Daisy had with missile collision as well as her constant chattering. Now she's more tamed with her chatty and is no more an obstacle when you're trying to shoot without worry. Hence the v2 update to fix that issue. 

3.) @RevolTobor on the r/DoomMods reddit:

 - For coming with the idea for the spinning sword throw. I wasn't thinking about it but when we discussed he asked if I could add this. I didn't know boomerang capabilities were possible with GZDoom until recently. Hence the v3 update! 

-  For picking up on an issue where she would get into an animation loop when she uses her thrust attack.  Hence the v4 update! 

-  For being the first to tell me about an animation loop that Daisy had with her Charge attack, hence the v9 update! And for coming up with the idea to add two more interactions which were based on the Webcomic by Deputy Rust over on Webtoons!

-For our discussions about having Daisy attacking enemies from higher elevation. It was something we discussed and was something I wanted to acknowledge since Daisy is a melee oriented character and didn't have much a means of battling or trying to reach enemies on higher elevation before this. 

4.) AbsoluteWolf for also notifying me about the animation loop with her Charge attack. Along with RevolTobor they allowed me to check for myself and see what was causing this persistent issue. Hence the version 9 update.

5.) NotoriusCaitSithVII on itch for informing me about the issue with Daisy's spawn code. This allowed me to experiment and improve on the spawning code for future reference in future projects. Hence the version 11 update. 

6.) The Gaming Room over on YouTube for being the first time review my mod at the time it was in Early Access v8. He reviews a ton of Doom mods and is in Portuguese but the content is fire if you're looking for obscure mods or mod combinations. You'll find the video posted here! It's auto dubbed on the YouTube app!

7.) FakeMai on ZDoom Forum for help with fixing Daisy telefragging herself in Hexen. Without the help of this one person the telefrag would have taken much longer to recognize, least of all to fix with my current skill level. This was one of the glaring issues that I tried to fix which you'll find in Daisy Early Access v12!

UPDATES:

10-28-2025 UPDATE! Daisy has added glow frames when she's interacting. She has a patch to prevent her from duplicating herself in Hexen. She also has a patch to stop her from telefragging herself in Hexen. Daisy has improved physics with her attacks and she also has an extra flamesword throw attack to try to reach elevated enemies, something to help if she can't reach them via jumping.

10-24-2025 UPDATE! All of Daisy's frames have been converted to PNG Truecolor. She should now also work with Strife and Hexen without color issues! Daisy also has an updated spawn code to prevent her getting in your face every time you play a new wad. She also has attack patterns to handle enemies from higher elevation! Included are two versions, one with a passive sword glow and one without. This is in case you're running a lower end PC or want to play a was where darkness is essential for your experience. You'll find all this in Daisy Eternal Early Access V11!

10-18-2025 UPDATE #2! Daisy has voiceovers to go along with her two new interactions from the previous update.  You'll find this within Daisy Eternal Early Access V10!

10-18-2025 UPDATE! Daisy was patched to prevent a rather rare but consistent animation loop that others such as RevolTobor on r/DoomMods and AbsoluteWolf on Moddb. They pointed this out to me and a little tweaking to her code seemed to do the trick!

I also upgraded her movement when she does her Flaming Sword Boomerang Throw. She now dashes to the side before doing her first, then dash further in the opposite direction to confuse and avoid projectiles, granting her some breathing room and preventing her from getting stuck into corners like previously when I played with her a few times. Hope it helps!

Also, Daisy has two new interactions! Both need voiceover for the moment but I will be sure to update them with a dialogue line for each soon. Enjoy Space Marines!  You'll find this within Daisy Eternal Early Access V9!

10-15-2025 UPDATE! Daisy now reacts to Player Deaths and Resurrections. She has an added voiceover to show her relief! You'll find this within Daisy Eternal Early Access V8!

10-14-2025 UPDATE! Daisy's Flaming Sword Boomerang now tears through enemies! Really useful when swarmed by enemies. Prepare for those Slaughter Wads. Added some impact to her missile, thrust, ranged counter and jump attacks to push enemies with a little more kick. A good means of spreading enemies away from her (and you by extension)! You'll find this within Daisy Eternal Early Access V7!

10-13-2025 UPDATE!  Daisy's sword now glows red wherever she goes, adding a little extra detail to her red sword. She also has an extra retaliation attack where she gets attacked, sending small bolts from afar. Daisy also now has three interactions! She will randomly between giving you a thumbs up, a hug, or a smooch. New voiceovers as well!  You'll find this within Daisy Eternal Early Access V6!

10-11-2025 UPDATE!  Daisy can now be interacted with. When you press the "Use" button, she gives you a smooch! Enjoy fellow Space Marines! ;)  You'll find this within Daisy Eternal Early Access V5!

10-10-2025 UPDATE! Fixed an animation loop Daisy used to have where she keeps thrusting even after killing an enemy. Thanks to RevolTobor on R/DoomMods for the help in detecting this issue for that attack.  You'll find this within Daisy Eternal Early Access V4!

10-9-2025 UPDATE: Daisy now has an extra attack where she throws her sword into the air towards enemies. A little optimizing/randomizing her combat so she actually switches things up a bit during combat. Thanks to @RevolTobor on the r/DoomMods subreddit for the idea during our discussion on how to improve her combat.  You'll find this within Daisy Eternal Early Access V3!

10-6-2025 UPDATE: Daisy now chatters on more randomly, and doesn't get in the way of your missiles. Much thanks to @ShallowB at DoomWorld forums for the suggested improvements. You'll find it in Daisy Eternal Early Access V2!

Install instructions

Download the pk3 file and use it along with GZDoom v4.14.2. This mod was ideally designed to be used universally, with any mod or wad you want so long as it it able to handle ZScript. It's only adding a companion to help you slaughter your enemies.

Some maps give me trouble where Daisy would either stuck in geometry (she can't handle tight mazes and if the level starting point is too small she'll spawn in the wall) or will get stuck attacking unreachable enemy (enemies who stand on fenced elevation, for example) or invulnerable destructible object (yeah, an oxymoron, but some maps do have those, apparently). Maybe you can add button to forcefully teleport her to player?

Hey there, Kholchev. I wouldn't mind seeing if I can add a button to help with this kind of situation (I'll need to do some research on this for ZScript).  I'll see if I can get this "teleport to player button" working, it's a good failsafe to have in those situations. (For this and for potential future mods).

However, you said has trouble with getting stuck? Do you mind telling me which maps in particular gave you this trouble? I have heard that she has trouble in tight narrow areas like mazes at times a while back in her previous versions, and would like to also see if there's something that can be done about her pathfinding. (If not then the teleport button would be the perfect failsafe to counter this altogether.)

With that said, i am glad that you gave the mod a shot and hope you're having a blast with it so far despite these hiccups.

I've tried her in Brutal Wolfenstein (yeah, weird cross-over) and some mazes there seem to get her out of bounds, between the corridors (I think, judging by the glowing through the walls). And that's where I sometimes get her stuck at starting points if there's a wall aside from the player.

Those are minor troubles TBH, since she seems to get out easily enough. Real problem is pillars in that mod that she attacks relentlessly, but since some of them can't be destroyed she won't leave them alone and I have to run on the other end of the map, hoping me fighting enemies will bring her back. It actually happens with other follower mod I've tried, I believe that's just how followers work.


And yes, I do have a blast.

Oh I see, she's confusing them as enemies.  If you don't mind, what other follower has this similar issue? This may help me narrow down some of the exact code that might be causing her to prematurely attack anything in front of her (even things that are just props like the pillars). If anything I could try some things to see if I can get her to not attack non hostile entities or props  (or whatever object those pillars are considered to be in the code of the wad).

I'm really glad to be helpful. And yes she should be in the thumbnail, not only she is lovely but it was the main highlight of the combo, especially because it was the first time the mod was showcased in the channel.

Could you please add an option to disable her glowing? it's annoying getting flashbanged every level.

Can you be more specific, are we talking about the glow in general (including for her attacks or spells) or just the passive  glow that follows her around with her sword?

I can include the no glow version in the next update as a separate option for those who may feel the same. 

Hi. Specifcally I am refering to the start of the map, Daisy seems to be in the same position as the player, and her pulsaring glow fills the whole screen. Additionally, I was using a mod called Red Spiral, and the main menu was flickering with red from Daisy's glow. Perhaps it could be a good Idea to put Daisy on topof the player when the map starts?

Okay I see. I understand. I'll see what I can do to edit her spawning code. I haven't gotten around to that one yet due to not knowing ZScript all too well for the specific placement of her spawn. After the next update I'll see what can be done to fix that. If I can I'll have her start in the back/side of the player. 

As for the glow I'll have a no glow version for the next update to at least have that option. Thank you for trying the mod and for letting me know about this.
