The Golden Girls, S2E5: “Isn't It Romantic”
The Golden Girls was an incredibly progressive show on LGBTQ matters, especially for the time in which it was produced. We had this episode where Dorothy's lesbian friend falls for Rose. There were multiple episodes with Blanche's brother Clayton, who was gay, including an episode where he and his partner married, nearly three decades before that would be legal. Dorothy's brother Phil was described with the language of the time as a cross dresser, but we would certainly understand him now as gender nonconforming or gender fluid. And there was a really important episode that broke a lot of stigma around HIV. And in each instance, the story always ended with love and acceptance and a key takeaway that our LGBTQ friends and family weren't any different just because they were different. It was - and is - absolutely gorgeous stuff.

the replacement of websites with apps sounds so backwards when you actually describe it. like hmm you have to download an entire program onto your device each time you want access to a portal, where it takes up storage indefinitely. somebody should invent an app where you can "browse" any portal just by typing in its address... 🥴
