NEW YORK, NY - October 23, 2006 - Organizers from Movement for a Democratic Society, SDS, the Granny Peace Brigade, the War Resisters League, the Wobblies (IWW), the ISO and other anti-racist activists in New York City joined the We Will Not Be Silent movement in a floating protest on the Staten Island Ferry on Monday, October 23, 2006. The protest was called after a passenger on the SI Ferry was harassed by US Coast Guard personnel who objected to the Arabic lettering on her T-shirt.

In my Journalism class I am to find different opinions of people about President Bush. To makes things a little easier if you could please just post your e-mail address, phone number, or whatever method you would like to be contacted by, I will then contact you and conduct the "interview" and go from there.

THE QUESTION: "Do you agree with the spending President Bush is doing for the war in Iraq? Why or why not."

WHAT IS NEEDED: I need to find people whom I do not know and gather their responses and present them to my professor. Basically, if you would be so kind as to post your e-mail address I will e-mail you the main question along with your name, contact info. etc and take your information down. Apparently my professor is contacting our 'subjects' to ensure they exsist and we did not know them prior to asking the question, etc.

I would greatly appreciate your help with this. Please understand that your opinion(s) would only be shared between yourself, myself and my professor, however, if you do not feel confortable offering your opinion I understand.

Yesterday i went to the counter-inagural protest in DC!! Wooooahh! I carried a coffin, in one of the marches... it was absolutely amazing experience.. i saw a boy who got pepper sprayed =( the riot police came out, and the crowd got all tense,, the republicans were yelling stupid shit at us like "go hug a tree." "get a job" ,, you assume since we are here we dont have a job? what about you jackass, why arent you at work? it was sooo much fun, just freezing, anyone else go? experiences? please share...

I tried getting in touch with the Northampton Committee for Peace, but they haven't gotten back to me yet, and I got a prompt response from the person in charge of this group, so I think I might go with them. Anyway, this group is for everyone all around the country, so everyone should check it out, I think. :)

This is a plug for a project that will be finished soon called Torch. It will be a show released only on CD and in other online audio formats. It follows the story of former rock star named Gallahad who was a fierce opponent of the Vietnam war in the 60s and was arrested after a shootout killed 12 people in rural Ohio. Here's a small synopsis for those who want to know more.

It isn't finished yet, but the reason I'm already plugging it is some of the music from the show has been released and can be downloaded from the website. The show's creator has decided to release some of the music prior to the release of the CDs because of their relevance to our current situation in Iraq and other world affairs.
