i've spoken at length about how immobile and unresponsive Charaxes jasius tends to be but they do adopt this funny tiptoeing stance when nobody's around for some reason (note how not only are the legs not touching the leaf, even the anal prolegs are raised) and quickly abandon it if you approach. normally you have all the time in the world to take photos of them but if you want to capture this specific behavior you practically have to sprint towards the host plant

every year small towns and indigenous communities across canada are burnt to nothing by horrific wildfires and americans go on the internet to complain about it and blame us bc the smoke has spread to their state. i’m so tired.

go yell at mark carney or your own local politicians about climate change and urge them to do more to stop it. the namaygoosisagagun first nation had their community destroyed today. you can find a link to donate to them here. donate to your local food bank. go to the beach next week when the smoke clears and you don’t have to think about it anymore while the people who’s lives have been destroyed will have to pick up the pieces and try to move forward when we are already in a huge cost of living crisis across the country.

Gone are the fandom days of yore where a show like Supernatural could last 15 seasons putting out the most mid tv to ever exist but the sheer love for the characters and world meant fans didn’t care and made the most of what they had and stayed strong.

I don’t mean to be a bitch. I’ll probably end up deleting this. But man it’s demoralizing to see what modern day fandom has become. People are so willing to jump ship the moment a show is imperfect. No one cares once it stops being trendy. Fanfic??? Fanart??? Nope no passion just content. Something becomes seen as cringe? Drop it like a hot potato and act like you never cared to begin with. Can’t risk looking like a loser.

Remember when people stayed in fandoms for years? Shows with one season would have fandoms so powerful you’d think they were still running

Now? A month into a show’s off-season and everyone has run off looking for the next shiny new toy. Some mid writing? Oops I didn’t get exactly what I wanted. This show is shit with no redeeming qualities now so I’m just going to ghost all the friends I’ve made. It’s exhausting. I’m sick of it.

No one fix-it fics their way out of shit anymore. Nope, putting in effort is too hard when you can just consume.
