Data centers have a very limited lifespan but their consequences will be felt for generations.
I'm allo but i'm thinking about amatonormativity tonight
I feel like if losing platonic relationships (in any way, let alone fucking chatastrophically, hi teenage me) was treated with the same respect as breakups are instead of there being a hierachy it'd have spared me a lot of bottling shit up and not processing emotions when i was younger.
YEP at some point i was so lost about what i was feeling that i was like "oh huh it's like grief but for a living person"
"old friend" by mitski was the top second and first song in my spotify wrapped for the next two years respectively. I was NOTT fine.
[ID: tags: #especially because friendship breakups can happen at a young age and nobody tells kids how to manage those big feelings #everybody talks about love and stuff but nobody tells you what to do when your friendship shatters #so kids (and many adults too) bottle those feelings up leaving them scarred #so... yeah /end ID]
I'm gonna say it, I do think that even the laziest person imaginable should have a roof over their head, food in their stomach, and access to healthcare
a lot of people are reblogging this saying that most "lazy" people are actually just disabled or that the concept of laziness itself is a product of our society's obsession with productivity. this is all true, but it is not my point.
even if someone WAS just lazy and simply didn't want to do anything but lie on the couch and watch tv, they should still have these things. it's irrelevant whether some people aren't actually lazy because everyone, including hypothetical lazy people, should have their basic needs met.
if we have the resources to do it, there is no defense of letting people die because they don't want to work, and much less because they can't.
I don't want lazy people to have basic necessities because they "actually" deserve them because they ARE working or CAN'T work. I want lazy people to have basic necessities because they are people, and we shouldn't leave them to die when we have the resources not to.

auto immune disorders happen when the immune system ignores regulatory factors and begins attacking healthy bodily tissues, due to what scientists refer to as "sheer love of the game"
puttering around the house is an underrated form a self-care. make some tea or coffee. put on a podcast. sort the mail. tidy some pillows and fold some blankets. start the laundry. thaw some soup. just casually wander around aimlessly doing little things to make your space and life a little nicer. who cares if you get distracted or only do a little. you aren't being productive. you're puttering.
My life has gotten measurably better since I reframed the period from 3-4 pm as “puttering hour”. No it’s not me avoiding work or failing to force myself to concentrate during my mid afternoon slump. It’s puttering hour.
"ugh forced marriage? this plot is so toxic"
That's the kink
"they can barely/can't control themself from ravishing their partner? How is that portrayed as ROMANTIC??"
That's the kink
"why is the plot so fixated on how tiny the main character is compared to the love interest?"
Grisps your shoulders so firmly
Buddy you're not gonna believe this
I don't like to get serious on tumblr but this shit is in my ear at all times im so sick of it actually-_-
INCLUDE TRANS AND INTERSEX MEN (AND NON BINARY PEOPLE) IN PERIOD/PREGNANCY/HEALTHCARE TALK I AM NOT ASKING
I don't care if you think it's a "womens issue", I don't care if you think we should just put up with the gendered language for the sake of womanly women feeling like the most hecking special divinely female cradle of life eva, I don't care if you think it doesn't matter because we're minorities, I don't care if you think we're supposed to not feel addressed because "it's obviously implied to be about cis men" (ignoring intersex men ofc)
it's so easy to say pregnant people and birthing people and people with vaginas and uteri and periods. and even if it wasn't you're gonna do it. you have to
you just have to
if you don't like it maybe look inward and examine why you struggle with counting women as people or something
"so women have to go through x and y and z while men just,,.live?" so glad you asked because ACTUALLY we're RIGHT HERE bleeding and PMSing and menopausing and pregnant and birthing alongside you!!
i cant anymore with the "if men had that it would be like this, if men went through this there wouldn't be that, girlhood is this, men will never get that" bullshit
we're real actual people who face real actual things and we deserve to be really actually included in discussion and activism
not collateral damage, not less important, not an afterthought
again, consider us, talk about us. not asking, you HAVE to

surely this cannot be too hard a concept for people to grasp
i feel like I'm seeing more and more she/he he/hers she/hims every day and it makes me so fucking happy . guygirls and girlguys one day we might even get our pronouns on a pin
A lot of ostensibly progressive people frame their opposition to diet culture like they're personally making some sort of noble sacrifice by encouraging people to have bodies they don't want to fuck, which is odious not merely because it's presumptuous as hell, but also because if your partner's belly doesn't jiggle when you're going at it, what's the fucking point?
Like, yeah, you're technically on the right side of the debate, but if the categories of "people who don't diet" and "people who have bodies I don't want to fuck" have such strong overlap in your mind that it creeps into your advocacy, I'm not gonna lie, I'm doubting the sincerity a little.
probably the worst attitude tumblr unintentionally cultivates is "the world out there is completely dangerous for you and no one can possibly understand you, so you should isolate yourself from it and avoid interacting with it as much as possible"
Time to roll out the Andrew Marr quote again...
"If you put away social media and you walk out into the streets and you look at real people, three-dimensional people, they mostly smile back at you. If you look around you- you see perfectly decent, ordinary people getting on with their lives and inclined, by and large, to rather like each other, that is the real us. Let us not be fooled."
