It was PPP’s government that established a parliamentary government on National Security. This was an important feat in Pakistan’s history as it created a committee wherein all civilian and military leaders joined hands to counter national security threats faced by Pakistan. Over the course of time, the committee has gained prominence and is of utmost importance to Pakistan given the security challenges the country faces.
It was PPP’s government that thwarted the militants’ malicious designs for Pakistan and broke their backs via two successful military operations, Operations Rah-e-Rast and Rah-e-Nijat.
The three D policy adopted by PPP’s government—Dialogue, Deterrence and Development—was effective in appeasing all stakeholders in terrorism-afflicted areas, countering militants’ nefarious designs and executing socio-development projects to defeat poverty and illiteracy. It helped establish the writ of the government throughout the country.
FoD was a group aimed to extend support the Democratic Government of Pakistan in its efforts to consolidate democracy in Pakistan and support social and economic development in the country. The group was launched in New York on 26 September 2008 on the side lines of the United Nations General Assembly session.
The group consists of Britain, France, Germany, the United States, China, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Turkey, Australia and Italy plus the United Nations and the European Union.
NACTA was established as an administrative entity under Ministry of Interior in 2008. It is a federal authority that acts as a focal national institution and unifies state response to counter extremism and terrorism by combining the efforts of law enforcement & intelligence agencies.
