I had the privilege of doing an original piece of art for Epica's November 16th, 2010 show at JAXX Nightclub in Springfield, VA. I thought I'd share it with the fan communities, as well as let people know that it's available for sale- the original buyer didn't come back at the end of the show to pick it up, so I got permission from the band to put it up for sale online. Half of the proceeds get sent to Epica, just like with buying merch.

I haven't got my pic yet from the staffer I had been talking to, but once I get the email I'll also post up the picture of myself and Mark with the artwork on deviantArt for validity.

Legendary German Power-Metal band, Nuclear Blast recording artist BLIND GUARDIAN have been confirmed to headline the second annual FLORIDA POWERFEST held at STATE THEATRE in Saint Petersburg, Florida on December 18th, 2010. This will be BLIND GUARDIAN'S exclusive Floridian Date.

The Lineup for FLORIDA POWERFEST II will also include the touring package of support acts, Prosthetic Records artist HOLY GRAIL and Nightmare Records artist SEVEN KINGDOMS.

Hello. I am new to this Community so I thought I would tell you all a bit about me. I am a keyboardist for a Melodic Death Metal Band out of Collinsville, IL and I am also in the middle of starting a band playing bass and doing female vocals... all our songs are epic power metal and about World of Warcraft. My favorite band of all time is 3 Inches of Blood. I am from southern Illinois and there aren't too many metal fans here let alone power metal. Anyway looking forward to being part of this community.

For a long time, i couldn't get into music, but that was because i was never able to find the kind i liked.  Then a friend showed me Pink Floyd's The Wall.

"you mean there are albums out there were every song is only a part of a grander story?"  i was hooked.  i've always liked songs that told a story, but for the entire album to tell a story?  sweet!

sadly, there didn't seem to be a whole lot of these "rock opera's" out there.  i got some of the obvious ones, Operation Mindcrime, even greenday's sad attempt at a rock opera (what was it called again?).

but then one day i was wandering about my local music store, irritated that there seemed to be so little options for my type of music, when i stumbled across my first Ayreon CD.  at first i was just thinking, "that's a cool cover" (which you never want to base your purchases of any kind on cool covers, it rarely if ever works well...except for Ayreon apparently) but i was not entirely convinced, so i asks the guy at the counter, "hey, what is this?"

the guy tells me about how there's a bunch of different vocalists singing different parts like a play or something, and the whole album telss a story.

a grin creeps across my face and tell the shopkeeper, "I'll take it!"

i've been hooked ever sense.

later i'll tell you all why you need to buy the new album, 01011001 and how it draws all the previous albums together (unless you have already figured that out, then just ignore the next post i make.)

i'm a fan of ayreon, if anyone can recommend anything similar, that'd be great!
