Pornicators

Hello all,

For many years, this community, Livejournal, the Harry Potter fandom in general, and many of you were a family to me. You provided entertainment, camaraderie, and support through both known and unknown hardships and shared a love of a set of books and characters that brought the world together. I thank you for being there. As of this moment, I have not been active for several years, and as much as it pains me to say it, I probably won't be coming back to this beloved community. This is through no one person's actions, but a personal decision I had to make on my own.

Please know that I miss interacting with each and every person that I met through this fantastic community. That being said I need to pass on this community to someone who can care for it and either bring it back or at least preserve it for posterity. Too many of our fandom's archives are disappearing and I don't wish to see that happen here.

I would hate to see the precious content that is present in this journal lost because I am unable to maintain it. Snapesdarkling passed this community on to me many years ago when I was still active in the community and I know that this particular community has been dormant for some time.

If someone out there would like to take up the reigns, please contact me. All I ask of you is the same thing that Snapesdarkling asked of me: keep this space a safe, sane, and consensual place for new writers to explore the world of Harry Potter, the Snarry ship and those from OZ especially, on their own with like-minded individuals.

Some of you may remember me as snapesdarkling. Just popped in to see what is going on in here after all this time and am delighted to see the comm still exists and has a healthy membership. Kudos to unbroken_halo!

I am not writing at the moment other than a trial paragraph from just after DH came out. I share it with you here not under a cut because there are no warnings.

A Glimmer of Light

He is kneeling over me. I can feel his heat. My stained fingers clutch, burying themselves in the fabric of his jacket. They leave bloody prints and I absently wonder if he will destroy the garment because of that. Because I have tainted it, touched it. Left my mark. Snape, the murdering bastard.

 

So it has come to this, life's end on a cold, hard, wooden floor, lifeblood soaking into the dusty cracks between the boards, flowing in stop-start fashion along the uneven surface to pool in a shallow depression left, perhaps, by the heel of a once-stamped boot.  Already, motes of grey speckle the dark red surface, swirling languidly in minute whirlpools, before stilling to form subtly shifting patterns. There is no pain, only an ache deep, deep in my chest where I have often imagined my soul would exist… if I had not sold it; if I believed in such things. With every precious drop that adds its volume to the darkening pool around me, I feel lighter, cleaner, almost absolved as the filth that has been my life, seeps away. This end, that I knew would have to come, seems easier than I had imagined it would be.  If not for… If only…

 

I close my eyes and with a small sigh, stop the thought that has burned in my mind year after year.  The world seems silent, almost peaceful but for the ringing in my ears and the sound of his uneven breathing as he strains to hold my weight. When I open them again, my eyes meet his and our worlds collide. What I see reflected in the cold, clear green of his gaze is enough to twist my guts as it has countless times before.   I should be used to it by now, this feeling, but this time is different. This time something must change. This time is the last.

Anyway, there you go...  I have been scanning the snarry that is available but would appreciate any recs for really good fics so I can have a read.  All teh best to you.

Yes, it's happened again. No, I won't point it out. I don't want to feed this person's ego anymore than it already has been. I just wanted to let ya'll know that I am here enforcing the policy I posted here.

I know there's not a lot of activity here but I just wanted to reassure you all that I have moderated the posting and membership on pornicators for the time being so if you are trying to join or post and it seems to be a long time in coming, please be patient with me. I am human, am checking things out and will try to keep the trolls from getting to you all.

So, modly stuff aside, let's keep the good ship Snarry sailing along and have some fun. Suggestions anyone? Drabble fest? Mini-fic fest? Anyone sick of fests? LOL! Drop me a line, I'd love to hear from you.

Just 43 days to the book. I'll be polite and say things are already starting to become a tad bit... interesting, shall we say with the attempts on spoiling and ruining everyone's fun. Rest assured gentle readers, watchers and writers of pornicators, the spoiler policy found here is still in force and I have taken the added precautions of moderating the community as well.

From today until the end of the spoiler policy, which I am amending to include the Greek translation of Deathly Hallows to November 30th 2007. All the posts will come to me first before showing up on your f-lists. I will be checking over all of the membership requests and postings before approving them to try as hard as humanly possible not to let a spoiler get through to you all from pornicators.

I hope you enjoy the book when it is finally released and that you will continue to post your Snarry fics with us both before and after the book's debut.
