I had to get an in-between seasons coat as I'm not sure how hot it's going to be as it'll be Autumn over there when I go. I'm also got to get some sunnies and maybe a hat (if I can find one small enough) for if it's the other way.
I'm having to stick to the sales and cheap shops which is a shame because I went into Debenhams to check out their sale and I wanted one of each of the red herring tops which typically weren't on sale =(
I've also got to get spares for my digi cam and camcorder plus some throwaway cameras too. Luckily everything I take is covered by my travel insurance so I'm a bit less worried about taking expensive equipment.
It may seem a bit early to be buying stuff but I'm an extremely unorganised person and it'll take me until the day I leave to get everything done so I have to start now or have tons of spazzes in the week before I go!
Anyway it is less than 60 days away now!!! I had a countdown calendar on my website but that is non existent at the moment as I haven't been able to transfer the files over to the new hosts yet. I'm about 50% back. I've managed to get my new CD-RW installed and Windows 98 reinstalled but that was a far as I've got. Its not picking up on my modem at the moment so I have to get that sorted and then I can get back online and sort out my mail and webpages etc.
This weekend was really boring. I got so bored Saturday I went down to Jacks and stayed there instead. Last week I was off with really bad flu so although I went back to work Friday I was totally sick of the inside of my flat.
It's weird being back at work though. The day is going so slow and I feel separated from everything else going on. I suppose I just need to get back into a routine again
Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, 'I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here and drink whatever comes out'?
Why can't women put on mascara with their mouth closed?
Is it possible to brush your teeth without wiggling your ass?
Why is it called Alcoholics Anonymous when the first thing you do is stand up and say, 'My name is Bob, and I am an alcoholic'?
If you mated a bulldog and a shiatsu, would it be called a bullshit?
Why are they called stairs inside but steps outside?
Why does mineral water that 'has trickled through mountains for centuries 'have a 'use by' date?
Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp no one would eat?
Is French kissing in France just called kissing?
What do people in China call their good plates?
Why do people point to their wrist when asking for the time, but don't point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

Do illiterate people get the full effect of Alphabet Soup?
Why do they call it an asteroid when it's outside the hemisphere, but call it a haemorrhoid when it's in your ass? Did you ever notice how pissed off a dog gets when you blow in his face but when you take him on a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?
This one should, fingers crossed, allow me to communicate to and from Australia and anywhere else I choose to go, unlike my old one that couldn't even handle France!
My new one has a radio feature, lots of games, plus the ability to download new ones and those great new annoying polyphonic ringtones =)
The best feature was that it was an upgrade so therefore it costs me the total sum of £0!
Cannot forget the fact that I only have to get through tonight and tomorrow day and then I get to see Spike!!!!
Will I still love him when he a nice human instead of a norti vamp? Have to wait and see!
Got my new camcorder last night it’s very nice but has way too many functions for me to handle at the moment! I’ve worked out the basic filming and zooming etc but I need to sort out the audio functions as the sound is really jerky on playback. Cannot wait to have something to film now.
The Queen is visiting on the 31st of this month (Chelmsford that is, not me personally) and I was thinking about using that as an opportunity to try it out but I’m not a royalist or a hypocrite and I don’t like the idea of fighting with the police and local media to get a good view.
Took Willow to the vets last night but he said she’s only got a sensitive gut and gave me some friendly bacteria probiotics medicine to give her then she should be ok or I’ll have just have to change her diet.
It’s finally started to warm up here at work (well I have 4 layers on!) but I’m dead bored as I’m waiting for people to get back to me on stuff so I can continue with my work.
Feel I must take this opportunity to complain about a crime committed against chocoholics! Nestle have changed Rolos - they have made them with, what they call, smoother chocolate but what is actually less superior pissy chocolate and therefore ruining the yumminess.
This was my first lapse after surviving without chocolate since Thursday!! and I was most disappointed
I’m a happy little bunny today. I’m not sure why maybe I’ve still got some alcohol left in my blood stream or I’m simply getting excited about good stuff planned for this year either way I’m glad to be in this good mood.
Mum and Dad’s new year’s eve wedding anniversary party was good. I relished in my role as the fairy bar maid. Mum wasn’t too pleased that it wasn’t as lively as the parties she used to hold but the reason for that was the guests are now older people and nothing like the group she used to have come.
I’ve given into my paranoia and booked Willow in for a vet check, as I’m not happy that the blood she’s passing is just the changes in food she’s had later. Although she’s bright and seems fine I thought it best to get her checked over.
I was delighted to track down a Wolves calendar lunchtime in the sales to replace my 2002 one in the lounge (my lounge is full of Wolf related stuff). Better toodle off and get some work done
Checked out Dinotopia last night. I missed it on Sky and they've started it on Channel 4. I only missed the first 20 minutes but it was really difficult to follow what was going on. I thought it was program where some normal humans crashed on a planet full of talking dinosaur but if the main characters did crash then they fitted in straightaway and the place is full of humans anyway. One of them already got into a pilot school and the girl regularly sent messages to one of the other guys (the one who made it worth watching) as he was lonely. The guy seemed to be trying to escape this island so I presumed he was separated from the rest of the group only for him to turn up at the pilot graduation so he could go and see them at anytime!!
The new series is starting on Sky soon so I may just hope they do a re-cap and follow it from there. Loads of new series are starting on Sky - ER, Friends, Buffy, Angel and Scrubs. I love them all but they are all being shown on Thursdays. I hoping that with the Sky one mix channel I will be able to catch the ones that clash with E4 or that they will be repeated later in the week.
Someone has finally complained about how freezing it is in the office! Yesterday was unbearable. Apparently the heating is broken but someone has gone and told 'them' that if it is not fixed soon he's sending the whole building home at 12! I would really like that as I have to get to Jacks after work to get ready for the party. Luckily I put on three layers today but it's definitely freezing and I really want to put my gloves on as my hands are so cold =(
Attempted round 1 of the fight to get my PC working again last night. I cannot re-install Windows 98 as it's on CD and my CD drive doesn't work! I ran the Windows update and it found some critical updates which I started to download. The estimate time was over one hour. I tried to occupy the time doing crazy things like stripping my wallpaper but I felt really ill last night for one reason or another (lack of decent food, eating something I'm allergic too, new lens in specs making me dizzy etc) so I just ended up laying on the spare bed and trying to doze. Sadly when it got to 20 minutes left my computer died and refused to start up again so I have to wait until round 2 to finish that download.
I'm going to go and make a cup of tea now to warm my hands on
Woo-hoo! I love E-bay again. I managed to win the panasonic camcorder I've been after in one of their auctions. I saw the camera in a special offer at the end of November and couldn't get it at the time. It was about £379 then. I searched other shops and on the net and generally it's priced anywhere from £350 - £800! I looked at other cameras that were cheaper but I'd really fallen for this particular model and today I won the camcorder plus extra tapes and other extras brand new for £300. Me happy!
I had a pretty decent Crimbo even though my brain still didn't allow me to believe it was Christmas, probably something to do with the mild weather!
Thanks to Babs and Poppett I got some fantastic gifts - my fam have never been that great at picking up on they all year round pressie hints so it's a case of if you don't ask you don't know what you'll end up with but I'm never ungrateful for anything.
Time at Jacks was great. My meals were cooked and hot and the cleaning up down afterwards. All I had to do was sit in a comfortable warm place and endure my parents taste in television. To help with this I hadn't looked at any TV guides so I wasn't aware of anything good I may be missing.
Going home to my cold, messy flat and my empty fridge was very depressing and if it hadn't been for the cats I probably would have stayed forever! I'm now getting tempted to move back home when my lease ends in October allowing me to save for migration soon than planned and generally enjoy food and warmth and having money again. The sacrifice of course would be Ollie as I could only take Willow and that would be at a pinch. Ollie's not too amused with me at the moment and would probably welcome a better owner who could lavish attention onto him but we've been through a lot of October's a long way away yet anyway so I'll shut up.
My computer at home decided to die just at the thought of allowing me to run my new LOTR game. Then it relented and allowed me to install 87% before refusing to accept CDs again. I feel a major re-installation coming on - it's been almost 2 years since I got it so I can only hope that it is just that some files have been corrupted and not some major hardware defect.
Meanwhile Sky has saved me with Tomb Raider available to play on digital. I received a keypad for Chrimbo and therefore can play the game using computer keys as I would on a PC. I've only made it to level four so far and I'm pretty crap but it's worth the 75p it costs to play it. Willow however disagrees and chooses to lay across my arms and jerk my hand into killing myself as often as possible.
Being back at work is really inconvenient - my body really enjoyed getting up late and having two breakfasts before having to get ready or do anything.
