Swamp Thing

At work we recently received a used copy of the first volume of the "Swamp Thing" television show from the early 90's. I threw it in the player and have gotten through about half of it.

I have to say that, while the show is not entirely good, it is also by no means entirely bad. I actually felt that the dialogue for Swampy himself was pretty good most of the time. Felt right out of the comics in a lot of scenes. Particularly in the second episode when he converses with a bird who has been turned (mostly) into a human. Oh, and the intro with the whole "Do not bring your evil here" is great. I get a kick out of it every time.

Don't get me wrong, the show was obviously made on a *very* tight budget and it's cheesy as all get-out, but any screen adaptation of a comic book should be at least a *little* cheesy. And it seems like this show made a genuine effort at making something decent even if it only succeeded about half the time. Oh, and the kid was terrible. Maybe it makes me a grumpy jerk, but pretty much every scene with that kid was awful.

Mike, you being the undisputed Swamp Thing master, what did you think? (I am assuming by default that you have watched it.)

Also, I received, for no apparent reason, a DVD of every single Iron Man comic up until 2006 in the mail today. Score!
