There will be a new Pony Project in '08. This time, there will be a custom contest, with Hasbro offering blank white ponies to anyone who wants to enter, and the best 25 (to coincide with MLP's 25th anniversary) will be featured in the gallery showing, alongside the celebrity artist ponies!!!

What's that, now? News!?

Just finished a My Little Pony painting comissioned by a guy to give to his girlfriend on Valentines Day, it's a "self portrait" of Sally as a pony. How sweet:)

my guess is that the artists and designers involved in the project received her as a giftie. any other thoughts?

dame darcy's pony is up on ebay (being sold by the artist herself). do you think the money she makes will still be going to charity, even though the piece didn't sell at the event? something to ponder. would you donate the money were you the artist in question?

another thought: should artists pander to an audience in order to sell a piece (that is, in part, created to sell), even if it jeopardizes their voice as an artist? do you think art needs to be 'pretty' in order to sell in certain circles?
