My mothers side of the family is Polish, and I like the style of Wycinanki design and think it would look great as a tattoo. I thought you might be able to help me understand better before getting something permanent-I want to make sure there is no negative symbolism attached to the designs. Specifically, a variation of this one- "Embroidery motif on the trousers: folk costume from Podhale region, Poland". Does this have specific meaning? Are there any designs I should specifically avoid?

Hi! I recently stumbled onto your blog while doing research about my family. They lived in Złotów county within a few different villages. I was trying to see if there was any regionally specific stroje ludowe that they would have worn but I can't seem to find anything. Is there a reason that some areas might not have their own specialized dress? Thank you!

Cześć! I love this blog ! I live in Chicago but my Babcia is from Jadowniki Mokre and my Dziadek from Smęgorzów. I went to Kraków, Wieliczka and Oświęcim last year April to visit family and also pay respects to my Prababcia’s brothers who were taken by the Gestapo in the 40s. I want to pay tribute to my Prababcia and her husband and was wondering if you could provide me any input on the traditional costumes of Jadowniki Mokre and Smęgorzów? It would be much appreciated:)

My parents immigrated from Poland over to the states in the 90s, and they Americanized themselves as fast as possible, so I missed out on a lot of my culture growing up. Cześć! Znasz może jakieś książki o strojach Krakowiaków wschodnich? Mam te z atlasu polskich strojów, ale są tam tylko te z Zalipia(wspominają o innych w opisach, ale zdjęcia i hafty tylko z Zalipia)zdaje mi się, że we wszystkich publikacjach są zawsze tylko one. A z mojego regionu nie, chciałabym odtworzyć swój własny strój, ale nie mogę znaleźć żadnych wzorów ani haftów innych Krakowiaków wschodnich. Pomocy! 😭

Chcę tylko dodać że muzeum w przetworsku nazywa tej strój z dobrej sieniawsko-jaroslawskim, więc już jasne co za nazwa
