Jesus, so far I am made of fail. I've barely written anything today, I barely wrote yesterday, and I should be hitting 12,000 and I'm still at 8500. Granted, I'm also working without an outline--which I never do anyway, but still--and I'm working on something I have previously started. Total, the thing is over 40000. Also, I have the problem of there being involved some actual military strategy, of which I know nothing.

Sigh. The whole election thing and CJN being this Saturday isn't helping either.

Less than 24 hours until Nano begins. After much dithering (and the muse ranting on and on about working on a happy lesbian story, preferably with lots of gothic lolis in an all-girls' boarding school) I decided on Shaman Son, my high fantasy coming-of-age quest story. As is customary for me each year, I'll be posting the crap I churn out over on my writing journal, briannon.

As is customary each year for me now, please view my writing lj briannon if you want to read my Novel in progress. This year I'm friends-locking it, and I really should friendslock all of my entries there but am too lazy.

This year is Come Hell or High Water. I got inspiration on this one last December, and have held onto it for NaNo because it's about NaNo. CHHW is all about a guy who does NaNo and the effects it has on his life. Since last year, I also Imagined a tag line going with this idea:

"Before things come together, it all needs to fall apart."

Four hours into the second day of NaNoWriMo, and I have over 4000 words! Yay!

Hey, if any of you guys on my friends' list are doing Nano this year (and are, more specifically, posting stuff to a writing journal so I can read) add briannon to the friends' list and peruse what I've written so far this year. (You can also look through my 2003 novel (unfinished, not really edited, but with a tasty gay porn scene or two) or my 2004 novel (which I barely started *hangs head in shame*).)

And now, off to get a hot drink and to rest the old brain cells.

Well, I'm signed up for NaNoWriMo again. For those of you on my friends list who haven't seen me go through Nano before, check out briannon on November first to see me try to hack and slash my way to 50,000 words. Now, I need to go to bed before I expire of tired. Bleh, stupid gettting sick. Least I got Saturday off from work for CJN.
