Hey kids,
I'm planning to be around for the hunt, and I'm not quite sure what my computer access will be. I currently have three computers: a rather bulky desktop (XP; wireless or wired), a laptop (98SE; dialup access only), and a craptop (severely broken RedHat 7.3; wired only). I also have a craptacular wireless router that only works wired. Is it feasible to hook up a router to an in-room drop, or would that cause a rather nasty e-mail to the occupant of said room? Alternatively, I recall there's a thing for temporary IP registration for visitors using wireless--does anyone have a link for this? I'm particularly curious about whether it would function only in public areas or also in the dorms.
I'd just prefer to have my own machine rather than discover whose homicidal instincts are better preserved, madcaptenor's or mine.

Poor nectarfizzics!

I've volunteered to organize decorations for hall rush and I was wondering what ideas other people had.

I was thinking kind of sleek, but sophisticated at the same time. It'd be really cool to go all-out ultra-classy, but that's both expensive and not an entirely accurate representation of the hall, and we want people to know what they're getting into.

There are streamers left over from Mardi Gras, balloons are always nice (do we have access to a helium tank?) and I know of some really awesome casino-themed confetti, but it's a bitch to clean up.

So toss any ideas that you have at me.

This Saturday at noon the MIT Boston Alumni Club will be invading the EC courtyard to have a summer BBQ. While I'm registered to attend, I'm not sure that I will. Are any of the *cool* 3W kids that know me around this summer? Or has the hall's memory of me faded into crufty oblivion?

Whether or not I attend, feel free to mooch food from the event. Just say you're a recent grad.

Also, in case anyone has forgotten, I still have 2 PCs that I'd like to donate to the hall. The only two things I need are a person to collect the items and a convenient mode of transportation. I could probably figure out the latter myself, but if anyone has a car or something that would be ideal. As for the former, I'd rather give the hardware to someone instead of leaving it in Talbot or at EC Desk for eventual pick up. Unless you all don't want the PCs, in which case I'll find some other way to get rid of them.
