Ok friends, please participate in my quiz of sorts:
How much do you spend on your children for Christmas? Per child? Is there a family gift? If you'd like to leave the number of children you have, that would be great! Thanks! Oh- you don't have to leave your name. You should be able to see this post and comment anonymously.
Today is hard. this whole week has been. I really miss my dad.
I would say that his most memorable piece of advice comes in his character. he helped when and where he could. he gave generously. he saved his money and lived a modest lifestyle. he loved much. he genuinely cared about others. had friends everywhere and made new friends where ever he went. he got to know people he interacted with from cashiers at the grocery store to mechanics in local businesses to waitresses. he enjoyed getting to know others. he knew everything about anything. I discovered after his passing while going through one of his notebooks that he wrote everything down- including names, which is how he remembered everyone's name. he never complained about anything or anyone. as the women at Wynwood said "he was a true gentleman" and he was.
Did you have a favorite toy as a child that you took with you everywhere? If so, what was it and what happened to it?
Please let me introduce you to my childhood friends:
Gruffy and Tigger
Gruffy was a bear rug that belonged to my brother. I came along and somehow got him. He has obviously been loved for many, many years. I still have his other eye but I think his nose is gone for good. One time, my dad glued his nose back on and I remember he was laying on my bed and dad told me not to touch him until the glue was dry. I didn't like the way he looked with his nose so I took if back off. Tigger smelled like crayons for some reason- and I think he still does a bit. Emily asked if I was going to sew him up but I am not sure there is any hope for him. might have to get someone to sew him a body bag to keep him together!

Savannah, GA. there is just something about that city. I lived there for 6 months and despite the unfortunate situation of getting asked to resign from my job, I still have a fondness for it in my heart. there is so much history, it's beautiful, River Street, Tybee Island, drive thru margarita stores, moss in the trees, beautiful old houses, and the best part, awesome cemeteries!
