I got my rugby calendar!

Oh joy! Oh rapture! I just got my Dieux du Stade Calendar for 2011. Woo. It is beautiful and it is more than just rugby men this year...there are handball players and wrestlers. Really beautiful. So today's picture is to commemorate that. This is a shot from the DDS calendar.

In other news...

I am feeling much better and back on my workout program. I did some walking this week, 3 walks this week and I might go today for 4 walks done. That would be good activity level for this time period.

Work is going well. I have a number of events coming up that I am laying the ground work for so that is happening. I have a new student at work that I am training and he is super. A pre-med student who is super smart. That is working out well.

That is about all for me here today. Things are going well and I hope you are all having a good weekend. Cheers!

A sensual photo here...

I had to go way back in the We Love Guys archive to find this one but it was worth the extra time. There is a sensual quality to this photo that I really like. I also like the guy's name...David Gandi...poetic that. He he he. Anyhoo. Here we are, on Bunday.

I am doing chores today. I am going to get a little bit of stuff at the farmer's market and do my laundry today. I also have to get feline provisions for the domo here. I left her cat treats at my friend's house so she was NOT happy about that. :|

It is countdown to Hawaii time. I have the suitcase out. I did my Rite Aid run and I am going to start figuring out what to bring on the trip and get cat sitters lined up. Hard to believe I am actually going. Yays.

Following up on my paybox post. I have earned 80.00 (PB dollars) on there so far. If you are interested you can click here:

I am in the mood...

For this picture again. It has a sensibility to it that I really like. I found I was uploading it again and thought, why not, I will repost it again. It is an amazing picture. This is from Dieux du Stade 2008 and just wow. I love this one. Anyhoo. Repete s'il vous plait. :P Some things bare repeating. This guy's name is Mirco.

In other news...
I have had a busy weekend. On Friday night I went out to Cafe Poblana with an old friend who has looked me up. It was terrific and we talked and talked. Good times. Very good times. Then last night I went out to this new restaurant in Berkeley that I have been dying to go to: Revival. Really good place and the food was marketed as farm to table. We had a really good experience there. Then we went to Freight and Salvage (a Berkeley institution for the folk-country set) and saw a really good blue grass band called 49 Special. They really kicked it. I do love good blue grass music and had so much fun watching them play. The fiddler (Alisa Rose) was fantastic and their vocal harmonies were sweet and soulful.

Here is a video:

Very fun. Today is movie day and I am going to see SALT with friends from work. All in all a busy weekend which is unusual. All my graphics are delayed but that happens. Cheers to all and have a great Sunday!

Today's Post...

Here I am with today's post for Bunday. This is from Dylan Rosser's male stock site so you will see watermark.

Today is market day and then I am going to help my friend J*** organize her son's room. Will do that and then run some errands, I think. I need to go to Target and get a new fan for my apartment. One broke here and we are heading into hot weather (Sept). I have to have two for circulation. Yeppers.

Yesterday I saw Inception and I don't want to give anything away about this movie as the impact of seeing it for the first time is very important. You don't want to know anything. This is a brilliant film that builds a non-stop and relentless action. It keeps you in there, makes you care deeply for what is happening and is the best film I have seen this year. I used to not think much of DeCaprio but I have revised my opinion of him after this. I loved him here and this is just a stellar performance by him. I highly recommend this movie and I plan on seeing it again. I really do. We decided that right after coming out of this the first time, that we would go see it again in the theater. Just brilliant this movie. Oh yeah. Go see it.

Anyways. I am off for the day. Have a great day!

Today I have to head out to the Farmer's Market and get some stuff and then I think I will just chill. I am still in vacation recovery. I really got used to the not-working thing and having time off. Got to get back into the groove there.

Cheers to all and have a good Sunday. :)

Memorial Day Bunday...

Here is a two pic special for Memorial Day. I thought that would be nice for a holiday weekend. This is Matt Schirmeier again and I think he is one of my favorite models. He is just beautiful.

We saw this McGruber movie last night and I will just give it a pass on the review here. I think if you like it on SNL you might like the movie? Definitely the potty humor and I am not so into that. This was the kid's choice and he loved it so I think it was good for what it was.

I did have some great gelato after the show in downtown Berkeley. Killer.

Today I am going shopping with my friend R**** from work and J***. I am mixing work friends and personal friends. R*** needs clothes and I am trying to help her get some things on sale. I learned a while ago from the people who work at Macy's how to find the real bargoons there. They have a few sets of racks that things get discounted to so we are going for those. I never buy anything full price there.

Anyways, that is my day. I also might do some food shopping later. I am totally out here. Cupboard is getting bare.

Cheers to you and I hope that you are enjoying the long weekend. I know I am. :)

From car maintenance to the cafe...

Today was a super productive day. I got my laundry done early and while there I started a little routine maintenance on the Noldor 3 (that is what I call my car -- my would be ideal plates). In the lot at the laundry mat -- I checked the oil and topped up the windshield wiper fluid. No oil needed and the wiper fluid was empty so I filled that tip top. How nice it is to be able to clean the windshield.

Then I went to the farmer's market and stayed in budget. That is a bonus. I got some of the yummy home made granola too. It is a bit spendy but so delicious. Really good. On my way there, I had stopped by the Kragen Auto Part store. Those guys are so nice there and I wanted to check my transmission fluid level. My car sticks a little bit when it has not been driven for a few days. The dude, named Robert said they were too busy but that he would be happy to help me out in a few hours when things were less hectic. Could I come back? Sure I could. I did my shopping, took my stuff home, read some magazines and then went back a while later. So this fellow was like my personal tutor as far as car maintenance things goes. He showed me how to check the coolant level as well as the transmission fluid level on my car. It is very similar to checking the oil (just in a different place. Turns out, I have plenty of transmission fluid and it was not low so he recommended getting the system flushed and cleaned out. He even had a recommendation on where to go so I would not get soaked on that. Last place I asked about it wanted to charge me 200.00 just to look at the transmission. So this place would be reasonable -- 50-60 bucks and right down the street from there. I will do that next month.

So I am feeling good about my ability around the engine now. I can do a few things. Next up is changing the wiper blades as they need that. Wootles.

After that, I went to Trader Joe's (got a parking spot - gasp) and loaded up on snacks and then up to the Elmwood Cafe for a cup of regular coffee and a shortbread cookie. I stopped at Papyrus and figured out a cool present for my niece for her birthday this summer.

All in all a good day and productive. I had seen my friends in the morning at the Market and out schedules did not mesh today...that is ok. I had a great day and love the feeling of getting things done as well as learning about my car. Kragen is like getting free car lessons. They are great. Usually, my dad or my brother, Dave would show me that stuff...but they are on the East Coast. So this works for me.

Cheers to all and hope you had a great Sunday. Dinner is up in the air...either steak or something easier. Cannot decide. Hoo. Possibly mushroom risotto. I really cannot decide.

Night all.

It is a cold morning here in the Bay Area and I will do my usual Sunday thing of laundry and marketing. I might try and write something. I have a small idea for the OEAM Writer's Circle prompt this month and want to get that done and I have a WIP going.

That is about all I have today. Comments are nice on my posts here. Not sure if anyone sees these.

Cheers.

A nice addition to the bunday line up. I love these underoo ads because they leave something to the imagination.

Apartment Living 101...

So today's adventures in the rain, ended with a wonderful nap at my house. It had been a cold and rainy kind of day and in order to create the right kind of warm, cozy atmosphere at home, it is important to have the right tools for that. I live in a little rent control apartment and don't have a fireplace, but that does not mean I cannot have the illusion of a roaring fire and all that warmth here, now does it? Click and see what I have...it is pretty cool. It also has the sound of a crackling fire which is really nice to sleep by. I had the heater going and was plenty warm...

I also broke in my fuzzy faux fur blanket. Napping is an art, it really is. You see my little domo gato perched their, lurky mc perchy as she considers the couch HER domain and how dare I lay there on HER couch. *feline huffle puff* She did let me sleep, though and no harming of the human occurred. :P

Collapse )

I hope you all had a really nice Sunday. I really did and if tomorrow is as inclement as today, I will be doing much the same as I did today. Sleeping in front of the fire.
