Linux 7.1-rc4 Released With Many Fixes, New Documentation For Security/AI Topics

It was another busy week in the Linux 7.1 kernel space that has culminated with the release of Linux 7.1-rc4.

Linux 7.1-rc4 brings more Intel/AMD laptop quirks, there is a microphone fix for the upcoming Framework Laptop 13 Pro model powered by Intel Panther Lake, support for newer Logitech Bluetooth keyboards to properly utilize the HID++ protocol, addressing some AMD Dynamic EPP issues for that new kernel feature code introduced in Linux 7.1, and an option to disable KVM with CET virtualization due to some hosts hanging.

Linux 7.1-rc4 also has the latest kernel security fixes that worked their way into stable versions already such as for the ssh-keysign-pwn vulnerability for reading root-owned files by unprivileged users. There's also been Dirty Frag and Fragnesia.

Outside of pure code, Linux 7.1-rc4 includes new documentation what counts as a security bug and also responsible AI use around Linux kernel development and discovering of possible security issues.
