The PanVK Vulkan driver and Panfrost Gallium3D driver for Arm Mali graphics hardware is now supporting the latest "v14" hardware GPU hardware with the Arm Mali G1-Pro now being advertised as supported.

The top-end Mali hardware support by Panfrost and PanVK until now was the Mali-G725 that was introduced in 2024. Now with Mesa 26.2 due for release next quarter, the Mali G1-Pro is advertised as supported but not yet advertising the G1-Premium or G1-Ultra models.

The Mali G1 series is the latest from Arm at the moment. This merge request adds the Mali "v14" GPU support for these open-source drivers. The merge does note that testing so far has been limited and some components may be missing or broken. The PanVK Vulkan driver is currently concealing its support behind an environment variable, PAN_I_WANT_A_BROKEN_VULKAN_DRIVER=1 to enable support.

It's nice seeing PanVK and Panfrost catching up to the latest Arm Mali graphics IP and hopefully by the Mesa 26.2 stable debut in August this hardware support will be more well tested and mature.
