Current state list as of July 10, 2026. This is going to keep spreading because the current cause of unknown. Avoid all raw fruits and vegetables and wash everything very carefully, including your hands and surfaces that come in contact with produce. Trust nothing.

The cause is known: farmers aren't giving farmworkers a place to go to the bathroom or wash their hands

Washing is better than nothing, but it doesn’t guarantee safety. The parasite is known for being difficult to wash off and can hide particularly well in stuff with nooks and crannies (like raspberries).

Avoid salad greens, especially pre washed or bagged kits for sure, but the best bet is to cook any produce before consuming.

Below the poll is a series of animal images labeled A through J. A is the least close to the birds we have today; J is the closest. If you encountered these animals in the wild, which would you call birds? If you pick a higher up option, then that means you consider all the below ones birds as well - so if you pick A, then BCDEFGHIJ are all birds. If you pick J, only J is a bird.

So - at what point would you call these animals "birds"?

PLEASE REBLOG THIS SO IT CAN LEAVE PALAEOBLR. I NEED PEOPLE WHO DON'T RECOGNIZE THESE ANIMALS ON SIGHT TO VOTE.

I apologize to all of y'all with vision impairments for whom this poll is inaccessible. Alas, this is an experiment, and I cannot name the taxa. Thank you.

Sorry for a very late answer, but I saw you hadn't received one! That is a Microraptor. It was about the size of a crow.

Please enjoy this video of Microraptors being rotated (sound recommended but not essential):
