With the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, university teachers are coping with and adjusting to online teaching platforms. In this concurrent mixed-methods study, 10 science and technology universities as the research sites were first chosen, and educational planning in these sites during the pandemic was examined; then, eight selected teacher participants in these sites were interviewed to report how their beliefs and practices changed during the pandemic echoing the examined educational planning. The results show that educational planning and policies (...) assisted teachers in accommodating the new demands and changes during the pandemic; teachers' beliefs and practices generally echoed the educational planning and policies, with certain tensions still existing. The discussion part of the study is centered around emergency remote teaching and planning, tensions between teacher beliefs and practices, and the shift from emergency remote teaching to regular, sustainable online schooling. The study provides administrators and teacher educators with insights on how emergency remote teaching can be planned and implemented during an unprecedented time. (shrink)

PurposeBased on social exchange theory, this study aimed to investigate, from the cost-benefits perspective, the intention to co-create open educational resources.Design/Methodology/ApproachParticipants in the study included 311 undergraduate students selected from those enrolled in a course on the China University MOOC platform. Regression analysis was conducted to examine cost and benefits factors that influenced participants’ intentions to co-create OER.Findings From the perspective of benefits, expected reciprocity, increase in knowledge self-efficacy, and creative self-efficacy were found to significantly and positively impact the intention (...) to co-create OER, while increase in internet self-efficacy was not. From the perspective of cost, perceived effort and perceived privacy were found to significantly and negatively impact the intention to co-create OER, while perceived intellectual property risks were not significant.Originality/ValueThree strategies are recommended to promote the intention to co-create OER based on the findings of this study: focusing on OER communities and developing reciprocity norms; popularizing and promoting knowledge and use of Creative Commons copyright licenses; providing easy-to-use online resource editing tools for use with OER repositories.Research Limitations/ImplicationsFuture research should explore other ages, cultural backgrounds, and types of online learning experience to help broaden the universality of the results. Tax payments stimulate business enterprises to choose tax management through tax avoidance activities, which is the legal practice to reduce the amount of tax payable. In developing economies, taxation is considered more critical for budget and revenues of a country. This paper investigates whether various business strategies influence corporate tax avoidance decisions of firms by adopting business strategies. Besides, it explores how gender diversity can ease this relationship. This study has chosen a sample of organizations from non-financial sector in Pakistan. (...) The time frame is 5 years, including once a year. The present model employed a generalized moment method and tested the proposed hypothesis to draw the results. The study has taken the size, leverage, and business profitability as control variables of firms. The study outcomes by using the GMM method demonstrate that the presence of female directors reduces tax avoidance behavior in prospector companies. This study provides insight into future research for stakeholders, government officials, tax authorities, and policymakers. The findings offer valuable recommendations and practical insights and implications. The findings provide future directions for research to test different frameworks to attain beneficial results to promote the responsibility of tax payment culture. (shrink)

The history of human civilization is a history of continuously breaking intellectual limitations and redefining humanity’s relationship with nature. From the earliest tribal systems to nation-states and empires, from feudal orders to the modern globalized system, humanity has continually attempted to regulate society, manage resources, and pursue long-term stability and development through institutions, culture, and technology. However, a review of historical experience—whether the rise and fall of ancient empires, the institutional deficiencies of modern states, or the systemic crises faced by (...) global civilization in ecology, energy, and economics—reveals a fundamental problem: the long-standing logic of political centralism and anthropocentrism upon which human civilization has relied contains insurmountable limits. -/- This limitation arises not only from imperfect institutional design but is rooted more deeply in human nature itself—in the tendencies toward greed and the expansion of power. Historical examples are abundant: from the centralized imperial systems of the Qin and Han dynasties in ancient China, to modern authoritarian regimes, to the financial, energy, and information networks of the globalized era. Each occurrence of civilizational crisis repeatedly verifies the illusory assumptions of political centralism and anthropocentrism—the mistaken belief that institutions can completely restrain human nature and that civilization can fully control nature. Research in systems science further demonstrates that civilization is a multi-level, nonlinear, and dynamically coupled complex system. Localized centers of power cannot effectively regulate cross-level feedback, nor can they eliminate unpredictable systemic disturbances. For this reason, political philosophy and traditional institutional design appear increasingly inadequate when confronted with the long-term stability of civilization. -/- Against this background, this book proposes the theoretical framework of Natural Civilization Science. Based on the Lao-Yang Genesis Cosmology, it embeds civilization within a four-level structure: universe – galaxy – planetary ecology – civilization system. In this perspective, civilization is no longer the center of the universe or the Earth, but a participating system constrained by natural laws. Through this view, the stability, sustainability, and resilience of civilization no longer depend on centralized power or institutional dominance, but on alignment with natural laws, closed feedback loops within systems, mechanisms of self-organization, and the principle of low-entropy development. -/- Three scientific revolutions in history have laid the cognitive foundation for this theory. -/- The first was the cosmological revolution. By proposing the heliocentric theory, Copernicus fundamentally overturned the Earth-centered understanding of the universe and liberated human thought, enabling humanity to realize that civilization is not the center of the cosmos. This insight shows that anthropocentric thinking is inevitably an illusion at the cosmic scale. -/- The second was the revolution in life sciences. Darwin’s theory of evolution revealed the natural laws governing the evolution of living systems and emphasized the dependence of civilization on ecological and biological cycles. The development of civilization must take ecological constraints and biological laws into account; otherwise social and technological progress cannot be sustained. -/- The third was the physical revolution of the universe. Einstein’s theory of relativity, along with the modern understanding of space, time, and gravity, demonstrated the fundamental constraints that physical laws impose on civilizational institutions, technological design, and resource utilization. Institutions and technologies cannot transcend the limits of physical laws; therefore, civilizational design must embed physical and ecological constraints within its institutional structures. -/- Together, these three revolutions constitute the cognitive foundation of the fourth revolution—the paradigm shift from political civilization to natural civilization. The fourth revolution is not merely a philosophical critique of anthropocentrism; it is also a scientific reconstruction of civilizational institutions, technological application, and social practice. It requires that natural laws, system coupling, and cross-level feedback mechanisms be fully considered in thought, institutional design, and civilizational development. The goal of civilization is no longer unlimited expansion and accumulation of power, but rather low-entropy, sustainable, and long-term system alignment. -/- Natural Civilization Science is not only a theoretical framework but also provides a practical pathway. Multi-level distributed governance, alignment with ecological and resource cycles, nonlinear adaptation of culture and technology, and resilient institutional design are all core applications of this theory. Through these strategies, civilization can dynamically respond to cross-level disturbances, achieve self-organized stability, and form a coordinated symbiosis with natural systems in energy, ecology, technology, and social structure. -/- This book aims to provide a new intellectual blueprint. It not only reviews the three previous scientific revolutions and their implications for civilizational understanding but also proposes the theoretical system, governance principles, and practical pathways of Natural Civilization Science. The book is divided into four major parts. The first part reviews the revolutionary trajectory of human intellectual history. The second part critiques political civilization and its institutional limitations. The third part proposes the theoretical framework of Natural Civilization Science. The fourth part elaborates governance principles, implementation strategies, and the historical and future significance of the Fourth Revolution. The Xixiangji, 西厢记 (Romance of the Western Chamber), is an outstanding representative of Chinese classical drama, possesses significant literary and artistic value, and expresses profound Chinese philosophical insights into life, society, human emotions, and relationships. It not only embodies the characteristics of classical culture but also profoundly reflects the complexity of human nature and the sincerity of emotions. It represents a pivotal shift in Chinese literary and philosophical thought. By transforming a Tang Dynasty tale of seduction and abandonment into a (...) celebratory narrative of mutual devotion, the author, Wang Shifu, challenged the rigid Confucian social hierarchy of the Yuan period. This paper explores the artistic and literary value of Xixiangji, focusing on its structural, compositional, and linguistic artistry, which deeply reflects the changes in Yuan Dynasty dramatic thought. It also explores philosophical themes such as the natural forces of nature (Yin and Yang), free will and destiny, the importance of human emotions, especially love, and moral obligations, making it a suitable subject for philosophical reflection. The ultimate purpose is to demonstrate how the Xixiangji is both a literary gem and a philosophical mosaic, weaving together Confucian, Buddhist, and Taoist elements, structural aesthetics, and ethical concepts. Fine’s reformulation of McTaggart’s paradox may be the most important development in the philosophy of time in recent years. After reformulating this paradox as a contradiction among four principles, Fine identifies four possible theories that can avoid it. This paper focuses on two of them: standard realism and fragmentalism. Fine argues that one advantage of fragmentalism over standard realism is its ability to offer a better account of temporal passage. I argue that this argument fails. On the one hand, standard (...) realism can adequately capture the passage of time by the primitive tense, but only if the tense is understood as describing the tensed way reality is constituted, rather than referring to tensed facts that constitute reality. It is this tensed constitution of reality that captures temporal passage. On the other hand, fragmentalism fails to account for temporal passage because, within its framework, the constitution of reality is fundamentally tenseless. (shrink)

The Alternative Model of Personality Disorders integrates several theoretical models of personality functioning, including interpersonal theory. The interpersonal circumplex dimensions of warmth and dominance can be conceptualized as traits similar to those in AMPD Criterion B, but interpersonal theory also offers dynamic hypotheses about how these variables that change from moment to moment, which help to operationalize some of the processes alluded to in AMPD Criterion A. In the psychotherapy literature, dynamic interpersonal behaviors are thought to be critical for identifying (...) therapeutic alliance ruptures, yet few studies have examined moment-to-moment interpersonal behaviors that are associated with alliance ruptures at an idiographic level. The current study examined the concurrent and cross-lagged relationships between interpersonal behaviors and alliance ruptures within each session in the famous Gloria films. Interpersonal behaviors as well as alliance ruptures were calculated at half minute intervals for each dyad. We identified distinct interpersonal patterns associated with alliance ruptures for each session: Gloria ’s warmth was positively related with withdrawal ruptures concurrently in the session with Carl Rogers; Gloria’s dominance and coldness were related with increased confrontation ruptures in the session with Fritz Perls concurrently, while her coldness was also predicted by confrontation ruptures at previous moments; lastly, both Gloria’s dominance and Albert Ellis’s submissiveness were positively related with withdrawal ruptures. These interpersonal patterns demonstrated the promise of using AMPD dimensions to conceptualize momentary interpersonal processes related to therapy ruptures, as well as the clinical importance of attuning to repetitive, dyad-specific interpersonal cues of ruptures within each session. Fine’s discussion of McTaggart’s paradox and tense realism may be the most significant progress in the philosophy of time in recent years. Fine reformulates McTaggart’s paradox and develops a novel realist theory called fragmentalism. According to Fine, one major advantage of fragmentalism is its ability to account for the connection between reality and tensed truths. I will argue that fragmentalism cannot give an adequate account of this connection. The long-term success of organizations is mainly attributable to employees’ psychological health. Organizations focusing on promoting and managing the flow (an optimal experience and optimal functioning state) may enhance employees’ well-being and performance to an optimum level. Surprisingly, the literature representing the role of HRM practices for their effect on work-related flow (i.e., intrinsic motivation, absorption, and work enjoyment) is very sparse. Accordingly, by drawing primarily on the job demands-resources model and HRM specific attribution theory, this paper develops a theoretical (...) framework that unravels the effectiveness of specific organizational level High Involvement HRM (HIHRM) practices (i.e., recognition, empowerment, information sharing, fair rewards, and competence development) in activating the individual level work-related flow with beneficial effect and mediating role of affective commitment. In addition to highlighting the underlying mechanisms that may cause HIHRM practices to be regarded as resources and sometimes as demands, this paper especially proposes that these practices implemented with a focus to promote employee well-being are perceived as job resources and may positively influence affective commitment and flow, whereas these practices used as a demand to increase performance are perceived as job demands and may hinder affective commitment and flow. It is further significant to understand the possible moderating effects of emotional intelligence on the relationships among HIHRM practices, affective commitment, and flow. The paper augments the knowledge and understanding of the impact process of HIHRM practices, in particular how the HIHRM effect is sensed by the workers and thus, influences their succeeding job attitude and work experience. After four decades of China’s family planning policy, the shrinking family size and increasing life expectancy pose special challenges for the one-child generation in terms of providing care for aging parents. The current study explored young adults’ responses to such pressure by examining their concerns about elder care, attitudes toward nursing homes, and living arrangement after marriage in a sample of 473 Chinese working young adults from six cities in China. Results showed that although most of the young adults reported (...) to have thought about the issue of parents’ elder care, the majority did not worry a lot about it. Only children expressed similar levels of worrying as those with siblings did. However, educational level, rather than sibling status, was systematically related to concerns about parents’ elder care and attitudes toward nursing homes. People with higher education tended to worry less about elder care, and were less likely to consider placing parents in nursing homes as a violation of filial piety. Analyses of the married sub-sample revealed that only children were more likely to co-reside with parents after marriage than those with siblings. And the main reason for co-residence was that the younger generation needed their parents’ help for childcare, rather than to better take care of their parents. Implications for parents’ elder care among Chinese only children were discussed. (shrink)

ABSTRACT While post-Kantian philosophy has long grappled with how language relates to its non-discursive ground, Hölderlin’s translational practice offers an overlooked pathway through this impasse. This article argues that Hölderlin’s translation of Sophocles’s Antigone recalibrates Kant’s noumenon through linguistic materiality. By employing syntactic rupture and lexical estrangement, Hölderlin simulates the affective profile of intellectual intuition without collapsing the phenomenon-noumenon divide, thereby externalizing reflective judgment through linguistic form, enacting symbolic hypotyposis in the materiality of the text. Through close readings of the (...) First Stasimon and opening dialogue, the article demonstrates ways in which Hölderlin’s intervention renders the transcendent palpable within immanent textual texture. This translational turn establishes a crucial but underexamined lineage for Walter Benjamin’s pure language and Martin Heidegger’s hermeneutic phenomenology, positioning language as an irreducible locus of ontological disclosure. This paper proposes the Lao–Yang Genesis Cosmology, a holistic cosmological framework that reinterprets Laozi’s foundational propositions—“Man follows Earth, Earth follows Heaven, Heaven follows the Dao, the Dao follows Nature” and “Dao gives birth to One; One gives birth to Two; Two gives birth to Three; Three gives birth to all things”—through the lens of modern astronomy, Earth science, and ecological philosophy. By integrating Daoist metaphysics with contemporary cosmology, the study constructs a nested generative chain: the Dao manifested as the (...) Milky Way; the Milky Way giving rise to the Solar System (“Dao gives birth to One”); the Solar System giving rise to Earth (“One gives birth to Two”); Earth giving rise to the Moon (“Two gives birth to Three”); and the Sun–Earth–Moon tri-system generating water, air, light, life, and ultimately human civilization (“Three gives birth to all things”). Through systematic analysis, the paper demonstrates that these classical Daoist formulations are not merely moral or metaphysical metaphors but correspond to a coherent cosmological order grounded in natural law, self-organization, and systemic interdependence. At the human scale, “Man follows Earth” is interpreted as an ecological and civilizational imperative rooted in planetary limits, cultural continuity, and sustainable development. At the cosmic scale, “Dao follows Nature” is articulated as the spontaneous, non-intervening operation of universal laws governing galaxies, stars, planets, and life. The Lao–Yang Genesis Cosmology thus offers a unified philosophical–scientific model that reconnects humanity with its cosmic origins, reframes ecological crises as consequences of deviating from natural order, and advances a vision of sustainable civilization grounded in harmony between humanity, Earth, and the cosmos. By rebuilding the bridge between ancient Daoist wisdom and modern cosmology, this work seeks to provide a non-theistic, non-anthropocentric foundation for understanding the origin of life, the structure of the universe, and humanity’s ethical responsibility within it. This article aims to explore contemplative (pray or meditation) practitioners’ direct lived experiences of enlightenment and develop a multi-item scale measuring these experiences. A mixed-method approach was adopted. The first study is a phenomenological study that interviewed 24 participants with enlightenment experiences and the second study is a scale-development study that recruited 1130 participants for scale validation. Two major clusters of the enlightenment experiences including sensory feelings and nondual realizations emerged from the phenomenological study and the four main themes of (...) the realizations were formed: intrapersonal insights, inspiration internalization, interpersonal compassion, and interconnectedness. After exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), a three-factor structure of the Spiritual Enlightenment Experience Scale (SEES), including nonduality, sensory clarity, and sensory disappearance were revealed. The findings of the research depicted a fuller picture of spiritual enlightenment experiences which may contribute to the current knowledge of religiosity and spirituality, as well as transpersonal psychology. The results suggest that the core components of spiritual enlightenment experiences include sensory clarity and disappearance experiences and realizations of nonduality. (shrink)

Preface: Rebuilding the Spiritual Foundations of Human Civilization at the Scale of Cosmic Rationality -/- I did not anticipate that what began as a near-compulsive intellectual urge — the need to properly explain Laozi — would eventually grow into many scholarly works spanning the vast intellectual terrain of cosmology, thermodynamics, complexity science, civilization theory, AI ethics, and epistemology. Yet in retrospect, everything seems to have been inevitable: once you truly touch the scientific core of Laozi's thought, you cannot stop, because (...) that core functions like a self-organizing seed, spontaneously generating new branches in every new intellectual soil into which it is planted. -/- This book is a systematic review of those works, and a self-presentation of a complete philosophical system. Its central proposition can be stated in a single sentence: the sustainability of civilization depends upon the degree to which it aligns with the generative order of the cosmos. -/- I. The Starting Point: An Unavoidable Fundamental Perplexity -/- More than twenty years ago, when I began to read Laozi seriously, I encountered a peculiar intellectual predicament. On one hand, I had a clear sense that the Dao De Jing contained something far exceeding an ordinary philosophical text — it seemed less like the product of a particular historical moment and more like a direct record of some objective cosmic reality. On the other hand, I found that none of the existing interpretive traditions — whether Daoism's mystification, Confucianism's domestication, or modern scholarship's philological textualism — could genuinely account for the source of this sense. -/- The turning point came when I placed Laozi's "the Dao gives birth to One; One gives birth to Two; Two gives birth to Three; Three gives birth to the ten thousand things" in direct comparison with modern astronomy, thermodynamics, and complex systems science. When "the Dao gives birth to One" corresponded to the Milky Way generating the Solar System; "One gives birth to Two" to the Earth condensing from the primordial solar nebula; "Two gives birth to Three" to the Earth capturing the Moon; and "Three gives birth to the ten thousand things" to the Sun-Earth-Moon trinitarian system nurturing life and civilization — a stunning recognition arose within me: Laozi was not a mystic and not a moral teacher, but the earliest scientific philosopher in human history to perceive, through philosophical intuition, the generative order of the cosmos. This recognition opened the door to more than two decades of intellectual exploration. The Lao-Yang Genesis Cosmology was gradually constructed on the foundation of this foundational insight. -/- II. Methodological Consciousness: Scientific Philosophy -/- The methodology employed in this research series I call "scientific philosophy" (科学哲思, kexue zhesi) — it is neither pure humanistic hermeneutics nor reductionist natural science, but the deep fusion of both. It uses modern cosmology, thermodynamics, and complexity science to test and enrich philosophical propositions, while simultaneously using the holistic philosophical vision to integrate and elevate the fragmented discoveries of science. Why is such a methodology necessary? Because the objects that Laozi discusses — the generation of the cosmos, the laws of nature, the stability of systems — are in their essence the research objects of natural science; yet the manner in which Laozi approaches these objects — holistically, non-linearly, through spontaneous emergence — is precisely the core agenda of contemporary complexity science. Pure philological commentary can never reach this level; pure natural science lacks the philosophical framework needed to integrate these insights. Scientific philosophy is the only genuine bridge between the two. The practice of this methodology has produced a series of cross-disciplinary research results: from the astronomical argument for "the Dao is the Milky Way"; to the cybernetic interpretation of wu wei as the principle of minimum intervention and negative feedback first; from the complexity-science explanation of Chinese civilization's long-term continuity; to the civilizational safety framework for the transformation from Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Artificial Wisdom (AW); from the epistemological critique of the historical arc of Western rationalism; to the political-philosophical exposure of the "Confucian-Daoist complementarity" narrative as academic reductionism. Each work is a concrete unfolding of the scientific philosophy method within a particular problem domain. -/- III. Core Insights: Three Intellectual Threads -/- Looking back across the works on Philarchive, three intellectual threads that run through the entire body of research can be clearly identified. They are intertwined with each other and together constitute the core structure of this intellectual system. -/- The first thread: cosmogony. Laozi's "the Dao generates the ten thousand things" is not a metaphysical metaphor but a philosophical expression of the true physical generative order of the cosmos. The Dao (the Milky Way) → the Solar System → the Earth → the Moon → life → civilization: this hierarchically generative chain is the cosmological foundation of the entire theoretical system. Each level creates local low-entropy order under thermodynamic constraints through dissipative structure mechanisms; each level constitutes an inviolable constraint upon the next — "Man follows Earth; Earth follows Heaven; Heaven follows the Dao; the Dao follows Nature" is a fundamental principle of civilizational design, not a moral exhortation. -/- The second thread: civilizational entropy diagnosis. The core crisis of contemporary civilization is not a moral crisis but a systemic entropy-increase crisis. Artificial Civilization takes positive feedback mechanisms (growth driving growth, power reinforcing power, desire amplifying desire) as its core driving force: its short-term efficiency is extremely high, but its long-term rate of entropy increase is equally high, and thermodynamic collapse is inevitable. Natural Civilization takes negative feedback mechanisms (self-restraint, systemic repair, dynamic equilibrium) as its core regulator, and is capable of sustainable persistence within the framework permitted by cosmic thermodynamics. From this perspective, Confucian thought, modern technocracy, global elite dialogue mechanisms, and the mainstream development logic of artificial intelligence all expose their systemic nature as accelerators of high-entropy civilization. -/- The third thread: the pathway of cognitive transformation. Understanding Laozi requires completing three cognitive transformations: from utilitarian judgment to systemic wisdom; from binary oppositional thinking to dynamic interpenetration; and from anthropocentrism to cosmic positioning. These three transformations are not purely intellectual philosophical exercises but a fundamental reorientation at the civilizational level — they are the cognitive prerequisites that must be completed in order to switch from the Artificial Order operating system to the Natural Civilization operating system. -/- IV. The Difficulties and Limitations of This Work -/- It must be honestly acknowledged that the construction of this intellectual system has been full of difficulties and contains unavoidable limitations. The greatest difficulty is the limitation of language. Laozi says: "The Dao that can be spoken is not the eternal Dao" — any effort to fix the Dao as some determinate concept will miss the Dao's essential nature. I know well that the true Dao — the dynamic holism of the cosmos's spontaneous generative order — cannot be completely captured by any textual system. What this book can achieve is only a continuous approach to this inexhaustible cosmic reality from multiple angles, using multiple instruments. -/- Another limitation is the scope of the research. Although my works (Works by Charles X. Yang on Philarchive) represent a considerable volume, the problem domain encompassed by the Lao-Yang Genesis Cosmology far exceeds what any individual research program can cover. Cosmology, neuroscience, ecology, political economy, artificial intelligence... each domain can be the subject of deep specialist research from the perspective of the Lao-Yang cosmology. Workplace incivility remains a prevailing issue and has significant potential for harmful consequences. This study aims to investigate the influencing mechanism of workplace incivility on work alienation from the perspective of targets. Based on the social exchange theory, our research examines the role of interpersonal trust as a mediator along with the moderator of career resilience in the said association. Through a two-wave-time-lagged quantitative research design, a sample of 315 nurses from China was investigated with questionnaires on workplace incivility, work (...) alienation, interpersonal trust, and career resilience. The results indicated that workplace incivility was positively related to work alienation with interpersonal trust as a mediator. Workplace incivility caused a decline in interpersonal trust, which led to work alienation. Career resilience buffered such an impact. High career resilience weakened the association linking workplace incivility to interpersonal trust. Organizations should pay more attention to workplace incivility and consider empowering nurses’ career resilience, which could alleviate the negative impact of workplace incivility. (shrink)

On September 29, 1961, Yang Xinping was born in Zhongxiang City, Hubei Province, China — the very site of Yingdu, the ancient capital of the Chu state. This was no geographical accident but a civilizational inheritance. Zhongxiang sits on the western bank of the Han River beneath the Jing Mountains — the most glorious heartland of Chu culture 2,500 years ago, when the state of Chu stood as one of the great civilizations of the ancient world. Even more remarkable: (...) Guodian Village, near his birthplace, is the site of Guodian Tomb No. 1. In 1993, archaeologists excavated the earliest known manuscript of the Dao De Jing from this tomb — bamboo strips dating to approximately 300 BCE — along with another crucial cosmological text, Taiyi Sheng Shui (The Primordial One Generates Water). This land revealed its buried secrets to the world more than thirty years after Yang Xinping's birth. Yet in a profound sense, those secrets had already been flowing in his blood. To stand where Yang Xinping was born is to stand at one of the great confluences of human civilizational history: the place where the earliest roots of Daoist philosophy were literally buried in the earth, waiting for the right moment to re-emerge — through archaeology, and through the mind of a man who would spend a lifetime carrying this ancient wisdom into conversation with modern science. -/- The Han River, China's longest inland tributary, winds through the Chu heartland, nurturing a distinctive civilizational model. The study argues that contemporary civilization operates on a form of “illegal code” detached from physical reality—namely a predatory algorithm based on infinite growth, debt-driven expansion, and high-entropy accumulation. Under the protection of entrenched interest groups, this algorithm has produced a planetary-scale “system heat-death alarm” manifested in ecological collapse and internal social exhaustion. -/- Drawing upon the (...) core ideas of Natural Dao, Natural Civilization, and Natural Cybernetics, this paper proposes a redemptive framework termed the Universal Operating System (Universal OS).
