This chapter is about this human sense of time, referred to as chronesthesia, which is tentatively defined as a form of consciousness that allows individuals to think about the subjective time in which they live and that makes it possible for them to “mentally travel” in such time. It attempts to explicate the concept of chronesthesia, suggest what it is, contrast it with other kinds of time-related mentation, discuss the origin of the concept, and speculate on chronesthesia's relation to prefrontal (...) cortex. The volume reviews recent progress on our understanding of memory, consciousness and the brain and identifies a number of acute outstanding problems.

There are non-governmental organizations that operate transnationally and there are those that operate within the boundaries of a nation. A third use of non-governmental organizations is articulated. We may call this third category an instrumental use of non-governmental organizations to facilitate the transfer of the work of third-party conflict resolution practitioners to the two previously feuding parties. Representative accounts are provided in Part I of this paper. In Part II, the instrumental use of the NGO to transfer knowledge from practitioners (...) to the indigenous and previously feuding parties is depicted as a means to fill a practice gap in the field of conflict resolution, where many praxes do not examine the transfer of knowledge in an experiential and discovery-oriented way. An alternative is presented where the process of appropriation is suggested as an object of study. In Part III, a conceptualization of how one may determine the phenomenology of a sense of ownership of the project by the previously feuding parties is provided. A phenomenological account of the journey from constituting subjectivity to a constituted objectivity is articulated to the point where we see a division of labour between Husserl’s transcendental project, that seeks universal and broader essences, and psychology, which is highly contextualized. Part IV constitutes the implementation of the praxis to answer the specific question, “What is the sense of ownership of the parties in conflict?” - and, derivatively, “What is the fate of the hitherto agonistic relation?” A conflict resolution model is consolidated or reconfigured using the lessons drawn from the results of the study and from a second look at the literature to see where changes in practice and reconceptualization may be required. _English summary:_ The ethics of Knud E. Logstrup (1905-1981), the Danish theologian and philosopher, are among the most important ethical approaches of the 20th century. In the manner of H. Jonas and E. Levinas, his universalistic justification of ethics is embedded in the horizon of the phenomenology of Husserl and Heidegger. Johann-Christian Poder explains the basic elements of Logstrup's ethical thinking and shows that Logstrup assumes that there is evidence of the ethical which constitutes humankind's relationship to himself and (...) the world. For him, the ethical is part of the ethical-ontological structure of human beings as homo moralis. From a theological perspective, this is the imperative and indicative presence of the creature-like destiny of human beings which is God's work. Logstrup's ethics are an impressive and provocative invitation to take the irreducible alienness of the ethical experience seriously._ German description:_ Die Ethik des danischen Theologen und Philosophen Knud E. This paper presents a framework for ethical and responsible standardisation by adapting Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) principles to standard-setting. While standardisation is sometimes viewed as technical and neutral, it has profound social and political effects. We identify relevant potential shortcomings in standardisation: overlooked social impacts, short-run market capture, and loss of expertise during certification. Further, we emphasise the distinct context of standardisation: its commercial roots, and the distinct way it serves as a sphere of knowledge-creation. Taking these points together, (...) we land on a four-part framework: Inclusivity, Anticipation, Stewardship, and Leadership. El Encomio de Helena (EH) de Gorgias tiene como objetivo relevar todas las causas posibles que podrían haber llevado a Helena a viajar junto con Alejandro hacia Troya. Dado que la intención de Gorgias es eximir a Helena de responsabilidad, el texto recorre minuciosamente cada uno de los motivos que pudieron haber provocado el viaje. En el presente trabajo intentaré mostrar que, prestando atención a estas distintas alternativas, es posible ver, en primer lugar, que en todos los casos se trata (...) de instancias eminentemente externas a Helena, es decir, de causas que le vienen desde afuera y que inciden en su curso de acción. No obstante, en segundo lugar, mostraré que la enumeración de estas causas describe cierta parábola que va desde la exterioridad absoluta (Fortuna, dioses, Necesidad) hasta una exterioridad que se interna en el alma humana: el amor (éros). Visto esto, concluiré que en el EH Gorgias insinúa la distinción entre causas externas e internas del obrar humano, distinción que será fundamental para la filosofía práctica posterior. (shrink)
