This paper reignites the debate over Locke’s one-act versus two-act account of knowledge and judgment, reassessing the recent inclination to discuss his theory within the justified true belief (JTB+) framework of Anglo-American analytic epistemology. After clarifying the key issues, it defends the one-act account by critically engaging with recent scholarship, highlighting weaknesses in the arguments of one-act proponents against the two-act account, and offering new counterarguments against the latter. This article proposes a competing model of the traditional theory of knowledge in response to the collapse of a once-dominant narrative in epistemology—namely, the claim that the “justified true belief” (JTB) definition represents the traditional account of knowledge traceable to Plato. This narrative has increasingly come to be regarded not as a historically accurate account, but as a retrospective historiographical construction. The first part introduces the paper’s leitmotif and argues that any genuinely new project in this area must begin at (...) a deeper and more fundamental level than the search for alternative definitions of knowledge. The second part critically examines two recent attempts to reconstruct the traditional epistemological landscape and identifies their principal limitations. The third part develops an alternative framework from four interconnected perspectives—linguistic, epistemic, practical, and ontological—articulating a judgement-act-based epistemology in contrast to the modern belief-state-based paradigm and presenting it as a viable competing model. The conclusion summarizes the central tenets of the proposal and clarifies the motivations underlying its development, with the aim of opening further avenues for inquiry into the historical and systematic questions generated by this line of investigation. The aim of this paper is to find a workable and adequate related definitions of logical (anti-)psychologism in history, thereby paving the way for further discussions on their pros and cons. The first part of the essay explains why the search for such definitions is significant. The subsequent section critically analyzes previous attempts at defining the concepts and proposes new definitions based on these insights. Existing studies mainly explored the detrimental effect of employee credit claiming, and little is known about how leader credit claiming can affect employees. Based on affective events theory and relative deprivation theory, we explore how leader credit claiming affects employee work outcomes by the research methods of literature review, interview, and empirical questionnaire. With a sample of 418 matched leader–employee pairs from a large manufacturing company, we find that leader credit claiming influences employee work outcomes through the mediating role of (...) employee anger and perceived unfairness. Additionally, we determine that leader credit-claiming attribution has a moderating influence on the relationship between credit claiming and anger and between credit claiming and perceived unfairness. The results support all hypotheses. Furthermore, we discuss the theoretical and practical implications of the findings. (shrink)

Due to the complexity of the cavity/vehicle and oscillation characteristics, streamlined shape integrated design of conventional fully wetted vehicles is not suitable for supercavitating vehicles. In this paper, a set of design criteria is highlighted to optimize the length and streamlined shape of a conical section subjected to realistic design constraints, which integrate the complex characteristics of the cavity/vehicle system under the condition of auto-oscillation of supercavitating vehicles. The auto-oscillation and its time-domain characteristics are determined. By deriving the equation describing (...) the cavity/vehicle relationship and identifying the maximum amplitude of the Euler angle, the cavity/vehicle tangent point criterion is proposed to determine the theoretical optimum value of the length of the conical section. A method of equal cross-sectional area for gas flow is proposed to design the streamlined shape of the conical section. Water tunnel and autonomous flight experiments were carried out to validate the feasibility of the design methodology developed in this work. (shrink)
