Abstract

This chapter explores the integration of H2H (Human-to-Human) Marketing within the pharmaceutical sector in India, highlighting a shift in how patients are perceived in healthcare marketing. Traditionally seen as passive recipients of treatment, patients have been excluded from the marketing narrative despite being the primary revenue source for the pharmaceutical industry. Inspired by thought leaders like Philip Kotler, a paradigm shift is emerging, advocating for empathetic and compassionate patient engagement. The chapter emphasizes the importance of recognizing patients as active participants in their healthcare journey, advocating for a patient-centric approach that values autonomy and shared decision-making. By leveraging H2H Marketing, which prioritizes genuine human connections and individualized care, the pharmaceutical industry can enhance patient outcomes and foster trust. Ultimately, the chapter calls for a humanistic marketing approach that places patients at the forefront, acknowledging their intrinsic worth and agency in the healthcare ecosystem.
