Abstract

The migration that started from Syria to Türkiye in 2011 has continued for 12 years. According to the data of the Directorate of Migration Management in June 2023, there are currently 3,551,582 Syrians living under temporary protection status in Türkiye. During this period, social policies including the welfare services have been provided for Syrians. There have been many discussions after 2016 which points out what was considered a temporary group has turned into a permanent community. The fact that Syrian children are quantitatively higher in birth statistics makes the country perception of children born in Türkiye, who have never seen Syria, important for the next period. In this study, the “perception of homeland” of Syrian children, who were between the ages of 3–6 when they come to Türkiye and are currently between the ages of 15–18, will be tried to be analyzed in the context of social inequality. Their views on Türkiye, their belonging to Türkiye, whether they accept themselves as a part of Turkish society, and the experience of inequality or discrimination that will be evaluated.
