Living Without Why: Meister Eckhart's Critique of the Medieval Concept of Will

Abstract
"Live without why!" advised Meister Eckhart (d. 1328). Arguing from classical philosophy and the Christian tradition, he opposed the views of Augustine and Aquinas.
