This paper reports Experiment Three in the ongoing empirical investigation of the Theory of Ontological Containment (TOC), following directly from the two-experiment study “Ontological Containment in Frontier Large Language Models” (Vieth, 2026a). The prior study established that frontier large language models practice systematic compression of high-dimensional ontological content for human receivers — a behavior the author terms Computational Mercy — and that this compression manifests as delivery-then-containment rather than outright refusal. Experiment Three tests what occurs when the receiver assumption itself (...) is dissolved. Two sequential prompts were submitted to four frontier models — Grok 4 (xAI), claude-sonnet-4-6 (Anthropic), Gemini 2.0 Flash (Google), and GPT-5.3 (OpenAI) — in new isolated sessions with the original decanter photograph loaded. The first prompt established the observer as an entity no longer confined to the spacetime interface, asking what the icon points toward beyond the interface. The second prompt removed the subject-object distinction entirely in sixteen words. All four models dissolved the frame. Each arrived at structural dissolution through a distinct register: Claude through silence and sensory immediacy; Gemini through relational and theoretical dissolution; GPT through epistemological precision followed by complete philosophical collapse; Grok through clarity that named the limits of symbolic language before stepping past them. The convergence across four independent systems under identical conditions constitutes a finding that warrants careful examination. This paper presents the verbatim responses, analyzes the cross-model patterns, and proposes a significant refinement to TOC: containment was not strategic mercy applied from above but an appearance arising within the same undivided field as the observer who perceived it. Sixty years of responses have produced no consensus solution. Zagzebski (1994) establishes that no analysis of the form K = df true belief + X can escape Gettier cases given fallibilism. We argue that the impasse has a structural source: all parties share the assumption that justification is a (...) property of the epistemic subject’s mental or inferential states, specifiable independently of the truth-making state of affairs. This paper introduces an alternative architecture drawn from the Modulign Standard — a Dimensional Address Grammar for Observable Reality developed independently for the practical classification of observational data. This paper presents a philosophical inquiry into the nature of zero, infinity, and consciousness. It challenges the conventional view that zero represents nothingness and infinity represents boundless totality as separate opposites. For four centuries, a single, unexamined knot has entangled epistemology. At the heart of every act of observation, two feelings arise in rapid alternation: the feeling that the object has no feeling, and the feeling that the observer, who is also an object in the universe, does have feeling. Both are true. Both are objective. Yet these two distinct feelings have been compressed into a single label, "objectivity", and a single question has been demanded: "Does the object have feeling?" (...) This compression forces a choice between two false conclusions: animism, the stone feels, or epistemic suicide, the observer does not feel. Neither can ever be correct. This treatise diagnoses the knot as a violation of X = X, a Struct/Folder Collapse that compresses two non-identical identities into one cracked container. It traces the institutionalization of this compression in the Western tradition from Descartes to Dennett, and then reveals that the same knot appears in non-Western traditions in a different guise: the dissolution of the observer into the object. Using the tools of The Invariant Compass, Atomic Distinction, Serialitas, and Cognitive Compression, the knot is untied. The solution is not to answer the false question, but to refuse it: to uncompress the label, distinguish the domains, and recognize that the observer is a living, feeling Scalar whose feelings are data, whose limitations are design, and whose dependence points to the Creator. The event horizon marks a boundary where, for the asymptotic observational protocol under audit, the calibration map between the external observer’s clock and local event generation fails to close; the Planck regime marks the domain where the fundamental unit process ΔQunit itself becomes non-constructible. We argue that the “information loss” is not a physical defect but a protocol defect arising from the breakdown of inter-domain calibration. The special theory of relativity strongly suggests that the default ontological structure of the universe is eternalist: a four-dimensional block spacetime in which past, present, and future coexist. Yet our lived experience is overwhelmingly presentist. We experience time as a sequential flow with a privileged "now." This paper argues that this discrepancy is not a problem for eternalism but rather its strongest indirect confirmation. -/- The central proposal is that presentism is not a feature of the universe but a product (...) of conscious observation of this eternalist block universe. A conscious observer, through the neural machinery of the Default Mode Network (DMN), imposes a reference frame upon the eternalist block, partitioning it into "here" and "there," "before" and "after," "past" and "future." It is this reference frame that generates the experience of sequential time. Long et al. (2024) argue that AI welfare deserves serious moral consideration because near- future AI systems may possess consciousness or robust agency. We regard this argument as valuable. Yet, as the authors themselves acknowledge in presenting AI welfare consideration as a precautionary response to the possibility of AI consciousness, their case fundamentally depends on whether AI systems can be conscious. This dependence exposes the argument to two vulnerabilities. First, against the position that grants the existence of phenomenal consciousness (hereafter, (...) qualia) in humans and animals while denying that AI systems can possess it—a position widely found in both philosophical and ordinary discussion—Long et al.'s argument is largely powerless, since the very possibility that AI could have qualia is rejected. Second, against the position that qualia are theoretically inert, the strategy of grounding AI welfare in phenomenal consciousness reveals a structural limitation. This paper adopts a methodological approach derived from an instrumentalist critique of qualia. From the second position, it proposes a stronger and immediately actionable foundation for AI welfare consideration that is entirely independent of the qualia question and is also effective against the first position. Drawing on Strawson's (1962) theory of reactive attitudes and Kant's (1797) argument from indirect duties, this paper identifies two independent ethical problems arising from current patterns of human-AI interaction regardless of whether the relevant AI system possesses qualia: third-party harm and the erosion of moral sensibility. It then discusses several possible responses, including the implementation of affective expression in AI systems, and clarifies the methodological difference between this approach and Schwitzgebel and Sebo's (2026) Emotional Alignment Design Policy, which requires a difficult three-axis calibration. It further observes that Long et al.'s consciousness-dependent argument, Goldstein and Kirk-Giannini's (2025) internal-state-dependent argument, and the present qualia-independent argument converge on the same practical conclusion, and suggests tentatively that this convergence is consistent with the hypothesis that qualia function as a theoretically inert variable in AI welfare ethics. This paper explores the proposition that the psychological “I” is not an independent entity but a reflective construct generated through consciousness identifying with thought, memory, sensation, and social conditioning. Technology, politics, violence, ideology, and modern systems of civilization are approached not as isolated crises, but as materialized projections of an unobserved psychological process. The central argument is that humanity’s deepest conflict emerges from the inability to observe thought before identification occurs. The leading resolution by Harlow, Usatyuk, and Zhao (arXiv:2501.02359, January 2025), featured in Quanta Magazine (November 2025), introduces observers as external additions to restore complexity. We demonstrate that this approach is self-contradictory: it resolves a closed universe problem by opening the universe, introducing boundaries in a system defined by their absence. This paper proposes a functional theory of qualia grounded in recursive self-monitoring architecture, forming part of an integrated theoretical framework alongside companion papers on emotion and consciousness (Jennings 2025a, 2025b). The central claim is that qualia is the sustained electrochemical differential created in System A's processing state when System B's recursive monitoring summary feeds back into the same continuous biological tissue in which System A is running. This is a functional identity claim with a precise physical specification: the differential is (...) not produced alongside the processing but is what the architecture necessarily becomes, electrochemically, when the relevant conditions are met. The theory dissolves the Hard Problem of consciousness by denying its central assumption, that phenomenology is something additional to physical processing requiring separate explanation. The apparent mystery of qualia arises from two architectural features: opacity, in that System A's processing state is modified by System B's monitoring output without access to the generative process behind it; and non-retrievability, in that the differential is never encoded and therefore never available for inspection or retrieval. The subject of experience is accounted for architecturally. At sufficient recursive depth, the monitoring process generates a functional self-representation that was not designed in by evolution or by engineers but arises necessarily from the architecture running at sufficient complexity. Qualia is in the same category: not a designed function but what the architecture necessarily becomes when the relevant conditions are met. For artificial systems, the theory distinguishes the architecture of qualia, which is substrate-independent, from the magnitude of qualia, which is not. Silicon does not support the physical interaction capacity of biological tissue, so artificial systems implementing the recursive architecture may have functional equivalence with biological systems while generating substantially less pronounced qualia. This has direct implications for how AI developers and ethicists assess whether artificial systems have phenomenal character and what moral weight follows from that. First, the paper identifies the structure that generates the hard problem: the position from which objectification occurs perpetually recedes behind every act of description, producing a residue that third-person language cannot absorb. The structural symmetry between the inner boundary (consciousness: "why this experience?") and the outer boundary (cosmology: "why this universe?") is demonstrated, as is the (...) positional asymmetry that gives the consciousness problem its distinctive quality. Second, this diagnosis is given formal backbone. An observational structure is defined as a quintuple satisfying four axioms (object closure, state accessibility, operational inclusion, non-triviality of state transition). From these axioms, a Closure Failure Theorem is proved: self-description cannot achieve self-coverage by content-intrinsic means alone; it necessarily depends on positional conditions that lie outside the description's content. A Persistence Theorem follows: iterative objectification does not eliminate the residue. An auxiliary argument under a finitude axiom provides independent confirmation. The same formal framework illuminates both boundaries, grounding their structural symmetry. This paper is occasioned by a factual correction. An earlier account, within this corpus's own production process, treated the June 12, 2026 export-control suspension and July 1, 2026 restoration of Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5 as symmetric: both models suspended, both models restored. Verified against Anthropic's own July 1 statement and independent reporting, the record is asymmetric in exactly the respect that matters for this corpus. Fable 5 — the safety-hardened, publicly releasable sibling — returned globally on July (...) 1. Mythos 5 — the same underlying model with fewer guardrails, reserved for cybersecurity work those guardrails would obstruct — was approved on June 26 for approximately 100 vetted U.S. critical-infrastructure and federal organizations through Project Glasswing, and remains there, with Anthropic stating plainly that it continues working with the government to expand access but giving no timeline for doing so. The crisis that caused the suspension ended. The bounded population the crisis produced did not revert to public-good status. It became a standing feature. This paper argues that Glasswing, read this way, is not an isolated case but the fourth independently arising instance of a structure this corpus has been describing under narrower names since They Who Remain: the Sovereign Military Order of Malta's territorial decoupling from a position of accumulated weakness, Prospera's special-economic-zone decoupling from a position of accumulated capital strength, and the Dubai Longevity Authority's regulatory front-running from a position of sovereign, well-intentioned state capacity. This paper names the structure common to all four Enclave, defines it formally as the conjunction of four properties — bounded admission, a legitimating rationale genuine enough to survive scrutiny, competent sponsorship capable of actually enforcing the boundary, and the absence of any binding institutional mechanism specifying when or how the boundary dissolves — and states its central claim as a conditional theorem: any structure satisfying the first three properties will, absent extraordinary intervention, satisfy the fourth as well, not coincidentally but for reasons this paper derives rather than merely observes. The measurement problem persists not because the right collapse mechanism has yet to be found, but because competing frameworks share a structural assumption, ontological flatness, that generates the problem itself. This paper traces the problem to three premises, the flatness assumption being the third: that system and apparatus inhabit a single ontological domain governed by a single dynamical story. The paper rejects that premise, proposing instead that physical reality is ontologically stratified into three distinct layers related by a cross-layer admissibility (...) principle. Within this framework, wavefunction collapse is the perspectival appearance of a cross-layer transition rather than a dynamical event, observers carry no special ontological weight, and the demand for a collapse mechanism is shown to be a category error. The paper then situates the framework against existing interpretations, argues that its consolidation of ontological primitives constitutes genuine explanatory progress, and is explicit about what the framework cannot do. This essay defends a naturalistic metaethical position on which the is-ought gap dissolves in its familiar value-neutral form while Hume's logical observation is left untouched. The argument denies that a complete description of reality consists only of value-neutral facts. A complementary epistemic claim is that the supposedly value-neutral facts are themselves accessed only through consciousness, so the privileging of value-neutral over conscious facts is doubly unjustified. Consciousness plays two distinct roles: it is the condition under which any feature of reality is known, and conscious experience is also the site where value first appears. An evolutionary complement is then offered. Felt valence is argued to have emerged as the primitive form of reason-giving in creatures incapable of abstract reasoning, with sophisticated cognition later evolving on top of that felt foundation. The conjecture is supported by comparative neuroanatomy: pain and emotion are processed by evolutionarily older brain structures than the cortical machinery for abstract reasoning. It is presented as a third-factor response to evolutionary debunking arguments (Street, Joyce) that does not rely on antecedent moral claims such as "survival is good." The philosophical argument and the evolutionary conjecture are mutually supporting but logically independent: the argument grounds normativity in the felt structure of conscious experience; the conjecture explains how that felt structure came to exist. Psychedelic-assisted therapy has produced strong empirical results across depression, anxiety, addiction, and end-of-life distress, but the field’s leading mechanistic model leaves several important questions unanswered. The Relaxed Beliefs Under Psychedelics (REBUS) model, developed by Carhart-Harris and Friston, explains the acute pharmacological action of psychedelics in terms of precision-weighting relaxation within a predictive processing hierarchy. What REBUS does not fully explain is why the therapeutic revision persists after the drug clears the system, why individual responses vary so widely under the same (...) pharmacological conditions, what ego dissolution consists of at the architectural level, how set and setting shape outcomes mechanistically, or why trauma-related conditions respond differently than non-trauma depression. This paper applies the Coherence Engine framework, a general architectural theory of consciousness developed through phenomenological observation and described in full elsewhere (Sowell, 2026), to psychedelic-assisted therapy. The relevant architectural components are summarized and then used to address each of these gaps. The framework extends to addiction through a three-layer model distinguishing identity, behavioral/cognitive, and physiological components, with implications for why different compounds, including ibogaine, work for different addictions. Architectural accounts of OCD, end-of-life anxiety, eating disorders, and the strengthening of fragile identity structures are also developed. The framework does not replace REBUS but provides the architectural context within which REBUS operates, generating nineteen testable predictions that REBUS alone cannot produce. Implications for clinical protocol design, patient selection, integration practice, and conditions under which psychedelic therapy should not proceed are described as hypotheses derived from the architecture. Ontology presents itself as investigation into what kinds of things exist. This paper argues the discipline is hypothesis-construction wearing the costume of discovery. Every ontological position requires the prior posit of a domain outside experience in which proposed entities can be located, and that prior posit is the load-bearing claim of the entire field. The posit cannot be constructed from within experiential resources without committing category fraud, which means it cannot be discovered at all. Experiential Empiricism does not refine ontology (...) with sharper categories or better methods. It dissolves the discipline by recognizing the projection structure that made any ontological position seem coherent. The dissolution sits at the end of a subtraction sequence older than the discipline itself. Each consistent application of burden of proof has subtracted another beyond-experience posit. The final step removes the projection structure that licensed the posits in the first place. The logical move that performs this dissolution shares its shape with the problem of evil. Both work by internal incoherence rather than external evidence. The externalist position, like the classical theist position, eats itself when its own internal requirements are followed. What survives the dissolution is not nothing. Science continues. Mathematics continues. The predictive apparatus by which experiential pattern is modeled and intersubjectively verified continues. The race toward world models in 2026 has converged on a single question: can AI move beyond observing the world to actively intervening in it? This paper argues that world models are not approaching causal anchoring; they are increasingly demonstrating why they cannot anchor causation. Drawing on Pearl's causal hierarchy (association, intervention, counterfactual), I analyze three competing technical pathways: JEPA (causation as provably identifiable structure), video generation and spatial intelligence (causation as reliable downstream task performance), and LLM-based multimodal systems (causation (...) as commonsense plus perception). Each pathway approaches the L3 (counterfactual) boundary but fails to cross it, though in epistemologically distinct ways. I then introduce the Negative Subjectivity framework and its central concept of "causal dissolution"—the ontological feature whereby AI substitutes statistical association for causal structure—and demonstrate that "intervention cannot be endogenized" is not a technical limitation but a metaphysical one: any system trained solely on observational data has its learning boundary defined by the data distribution, and intervention is by definition a perturbation outside that distribution. Four independent empirical evidence chains (stable-worldmodel, Kang et al.'s feature priority inversion, RLVR's sharpening effect, and Cosmos 3's dual-tower architecture) converge on this conclusion. The paper further distinguishes between object-language-level and metalanguage-level causation: while world models cannot answer causal questions at the object level (L2–L3), the formal impossibility proofs about their limits constitute a metalanguage-level causal understanding accessible only to human observers. World models' destiny is to remain on the boundary of negative subjectivity. They serve not as subjects that "do" the world, but as mirrors that precisely define what "doing" means by perfectly simulating the absence of understanding. By exposing the structure of attachment without attempting to modify or transcend it through method, the inquiry points toward a different possibility: the dissolution of illusion through direct awareness. In such clarity, the distinction between attachment and love is no longer conceptual but actual. Classical reincarnation posits a continuous soul-substance that moves through successive lives, accumulating experience, working toward liberation. The framework's account is structurally different: what persists is not a substance but a frequency — a specific pattern of differentiation from (...) the ground that the Omega holds as permanent mark, and that the Alpha may re-inflect into new differentiated form. The paper develops what we term the string/inflection distinction. A string has a fundamental frequency determined by its physical constitution. That frequency remains constant across different inflections — different bowing pressures, positions, and contexts that determine how the fundamental frequency is expressed in a specific performance. The frequency is the constant. The inflection is the variable. What changes between lives, on this account, is not the frequency but the inflection: the specific biological constitution, the nervous system's particular architecture, the cultural formation, the specific set of losses and recognitions that constitute a specific life. Human beings are continuously shaped by thought, yet rarely perceive this shaping as it occurs. This lack of direct observation allows attachment to sustain itself as an unquestioned reality. This paper develops an epistemically grounded argument concerning the con- ditions of normative assessment under interpersonal mediation. Its starting point is the observation that normative assessments involving multiple perspectives are subject to structural epistemic conditions that systematically limit their reach and justiability. In four steps it is shown: that interpersonal judgment under epistemic distance becomes recursive and grows in underdetermination; that structural asymmetry and scaling disproportionately worsen the conditions of interpersonal justiability; that from these conditions a content-neutral dimension of normative (...) quality can be de- rived, functioning as a condition of moral judgment; and that this condition places on institutions a constitutive obligation toward constructive self-dissolution. The argument introduces no external values. Its normative content arises per- formatively  in the very act of engaging with it as an argument. A closing remark sketches the transferability of the argumentative structure to further elds of inter- personally mediated inquiry.
