Even if he himself didn't see himself worthy of happiness, witnessing someone else's happiness filled the emptiness he couldn't give for himself. So perhaps he could enjoy someone else's happiness in a second-hand fashion. There was nothing wrong about that, right? Granted the permission to handle her, Vincent propped his hand under hers and stood behind her, leaning in just enough to ensure she was looking down the 'sight' of her arm. "Turn your wrist upward just like this. Now look down your the center of of the dart. And..." He reached down and lightly tapped her left hip, prompting her to move her leg. "Move your leg back a little and line it with mine."

Taking care to not handle her more than necessary, he helped her align her body with his so that she was standing in a similar fashion as him. Once satisfied with her pose, he rested gently took her arm and showed her how to angle it towards the target. "Don't hold your breath," he stated, reminding her to relax. "And when you're ready, release." Removing his hand, he stood back and gave her a nod.

Aerith has learned to always enjoy every moment to the fullest. Maybe it's silly, simple, just spending time like this at the Gold Saucer, but she really appreciates it. She cherishes every moment she spends with her friends because she knows what it is to lose the ones she loves. So for now she just wants to have fun with her friends. Of course they're still after Sephiroth, but she's good at not thinking about him or about Shinra for some time.

She listens carefully to everything Vincent is telling her. For him it seems so damn easy, but Aerith has always been quite clumsy. She has a hard time remaining concentrated on something for a long period of time. And even when it's not long... she's just so damn clumsy. But she's listening to Vincent, and she's trying.

She looks at Vincent and nods. It's quite hard to not hold her breath, though, but she keeps that thought to himself. She takes a deep breath and then releases the dart. Of course it doesn't reach the middle, but she still manages to throw it properly and to mark some points, so it's not bad. "Wow, I did something! It's all thanks to you!" She lets a happy chuckle escape her mouth. "It's not that good, but for me, it's a lot. I could never throw it properly before that."

There was a hint of a smile on Vincent's normally stern face. Seeing her beam out of simple excitement-- perhaps this wasn't all bad. She certainly had a way of bringing warmth into even the darkest of persons. Well, Sephiroth was an exception of course. But perhaps it was because Vincent was mendable; only the gunslinger wasn't conscious of this. And yet just from the faint glimmer in his eye when she expressed her happiness, it would have been proof enough that the cold-hearted gunslinger wasn't completely void of humanity.

"You did well," came the softened voice, with a bit of pride and a sense of accomplishment behind it. The host of the game cheered vigorously and proceeded to assort the prizes before them; A Moogle, Cactuar, or Chocobo plushie. "Which one would you like?" The host inquired, displaying the toys. "Each one has a unique surprise inside. Choose wisely!" Vincent had noted other players pick the plushies before them and each one did indeed have a unique surprise; some had hair broaches, some were filled with candy, others had a sack of gil, and others had some sort of jewelry. Ever the observant guardian, he figured either one would produce something Aerith would enjoy. Vincent tilted his head towards the prizes. "Yours for the taking." Just then, the chime rang, signaling the show for Loveless was about to begin. They would have to hurry.

Kingdom of Darkness

Whatever world he had landed in, this was no longer Gaia. The twisted portal had promised a bending of time, and while his goal was to track down a strange energy coming from it, the gunslinger had been caught up in it's gravity pull. Once he awoke and stood up to view his surroundings, it became clear that the place wasn't devoid of hostiles. He could already sense them.

Hey all RP partners! I've had a bit of a technical hiccup and I may have lost a couple of my RPs, so if you haven't had a reply from me in at least 2 months, that's probably why. Feel free to ping me if you suspect I still owe you a reply. I'm still working on a few but I know I'm missing at least a couple.

The things I want to say about Vincent's Oni Mask Yukata are obscene. Ahem. But I will TRY to behave myself. In public.

I'm so fucking excited. I really, really wanted to paint Vincent similarly to how I did Cloud and Sephiroth a few years ago, but I wanted *official* (yes with asterisk stars it's 1997) imagery to build his clothes from.

I... was hoping similar for Cait, to dress Reeve in, but I also knew anything they put Cait in would probably be way too whimsical for Reeve. Then again, there is the Monster Hunter costume... 🤭 No, no, not for Reeve. I guess I can just dress Reeve up as some lord.

I wanna say nobody knows how much I wanted this, but everybody knows how much I wanted this.

I mean you guys saw! I bought an entire Nendoroid new in box JUST to harvest its yukata for Vincent! And now I want to make him a custom body with THIS yukata, too...

God. The fan. The mask. That PONYTAIL. THOSE KNEES.

Guys, equip Death Penalty and make him do a flip- Wh-who suggested such a thing. 🤐🤐🤐😨😳

It's bittersweet. I can't believe we're going to lose this in a few weeks. But I'm so, so thankful that I got to see this clothing for Vincent. That I'll get to play with it. That the app is running and I can record videos of it.

Aaaand you're welcome.

And my absolute condolences.

The Lore with Vincent's EC Festive Outfit - Demonface Yukata (and what it stands for *maybe*)

You mean there's lore on this outfit...?? Why yes, quite a bit actually. And I'm happy to say the devs put a lot of love and effort into Vincent's (sadly) final outfit. This is just what I could find and understand, so if anyone has anymore to add to it, be my guest!

First thing's first. The hair. The haaaaairrr.....

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love his outfit too, but the fact that they went ahead and not only put his hair in a ponytail AND lengthened it just has me going feral. I'm ever grateful for more hair to pull, though. But enough of that. *wipes drool*

Longer hair in anime tends to convey power and non-conformity, beauty, and so on. With it also being in a ponytail, it's a pretty common choice for warriors in anime. In a way, Vincent is a warrior in his own right. But let me focus on the length for just a second. Typically when a character goes through a significant event in their life, they do something different with their hair. For example, in Crisis Core, Tseng chooses to let his hair down and grows it out when Veld 'dies'. In other cases, a character might cut their hair. But the point is, they alter their iconic looks through their hair as a form of symbolism. Keep this in mind as we go through this analysis. Mind you, this is the only time we see his hair has changed, aside from his Turk form.

Secondly--

The Oni Mask.

It represents protection against corruption, raw power, and confronting ones inner conflicts or inner demons. This is a very accurate depiction of Vincent's philosophy, his journey, and his personality. Fighting his inner demons, embodying demons, yet finding the strength to confront his past while also fighting for those he cares about.

Thirdly, and yes you knew this had to have been coming-- Yin and Yang. Yes it exists on his outfit.

For some strange reason, his outfit pose has him covering that symbol with his (gauntlet-less) hand. Could be just placement for the sake of a majestic pose. But I'm apt to believe this is done for a different reason. You get a full view of it from the wallpaper where you can see a very distinct swirl or yin-yang design. Could he be hiding it? Either way, it is the most telling symbol with regards to his theme of dichotomy, dark verses light, etc. I don't think any of his other outfits depicted dichotomy in such a clear manner as this (in the form of yin-yang). Something else to note is that he has a red and white ribbon on his belt. Based on what I could research, the red and white ribbon is called Kohaku, which is tied to good fortune and celebrations. As we all know, good fortune is the complete opposite of what Vincent represents. Just look at his birthday for example... Friday the 13th. And yet here he is wearing something that represents good luck. This, I believe, is a hint at something as you'll see later. Fourthly--

The sleeve belonging on his weapon-arm is covered in blood. Something of note is that he isn't wearing this sleeve, almost like he's separating himself from the blood-stained part of his garment. The gun itself resembles something like a dragon with its red and gold colors and overall shape. I do not know the significance of the orange ropes so someone could chime in in that part if they know. This particular gun's element is fire. A fire-breathing dragon of sorts?

Fifth-- The garment he is wearing is called a Yukata... a BATH ROBE. Now granted, it's a casual outfit compared to the kimono, but anyone else getting hints that we could see a bath house in Wutai? Just me? Alright.

....Please give us a bathhouse scene in Revelation, Square. I'm on my hands and knees! Anyways. One other thing to point out.

Sixth. Notice the colors they're both wearing? Their themes?

Yuffie is wearing a moogle-themed white dress, fashioned with a lot of child-like aesthetics. Vincent, on the other hand, is wearing a black robe, Oni-themed, and more mature. Even their weapons are very night and day, where Yuffie's weapon looks like a piece of candy and Vincent's looks like a dragon's head. White innocence verses black macabre. A somber broken warrior protecting a youthful innocence to preserve happiness. Ever the austere bodyguard. Seventh... Someone else pointed this out to me. But his hand that should have a gauntlet no longer does. This is the only outfit where he doesn't have any gauntlet, aside from his Turk outfit. Are you sensing a pattern, yet? Check out his other outfits and compare. Notice the bandages on his hand as well. This is yet another hint at what I'm proposing at the end of this analysis.

And finally... the conclusion. Recall what I mentioned about the hair change, the yin-yang symbol, the good-luck ribbons, the claw-less fingers... I think this is all thematically designed to not just give us a cool outfit, but to also tell us a message. This is Vincent's final outfit for Ever Crisis. It's the end of the journey. It's a celebration of the memories and experiences we've had. A conclusion to the story. And this outfit (I personally believe) represents Vincent's conclusion... Embracing his humanity (no claws), letting go of the past (the bloody sleeve), accepting his being worthy of happiness (the red and white ribbons), coming to harmony and finding balance between both the dark and the light (the yin-yang buckle), encompassing who he is-- someone who has fought to protect others while bearing the burdens of inner darkness and being a monster (the Oni mask), commemorating this event as a significant part of his story (the long ponytail).

Whatever the reasons for the style choices, artists always do intend to present a message. Maybe I'm way off. But personally, this outfit is quite special, and might even hint at what we might witness in Revelation at the conclusion of Vincent's (and FF7's) story. It's not just a fancy gacha outfit. It's a 'thank you for coming with me on this journey'.

Always sad to see fellow roleplayers suddenly vanish without a word or trace. You have no idea what goes on behind the character-- namely the mun who portrays them; their trials, grievances, life. Shout out to @a-regal-witch. In case you ever do see this message, whatever you're going through, I hope you find peace and happiness again. No idea what happened or where you are. But just know that you'll be missed.
