- Clarify expectations to team members about tickets - give them permission to ignore certain ones and permission to prioritize the important ones
- Normalize expected communication - other teams may not share our communication norms. Make sure it is clear whether the onus is on them or us to move the task forward.
- Catch issues before they hit production and become UBN - things can break while we are not looking.
- Allow us to respond timely. Often other teams might break stuff. If we detect those issues earlier, it can be easier to get them to fix things they break when they actively work on them rather than months/weeks later when the team is working on other things
- Avoid chasing. When tickets are ignored it might lead to unnecessary escalation (and derail our existing projects)
