7 Reasons Why Peter And Elizabeth Burke From 'White Collar' Are Relationship Goals

7 Reasons Why Peter And Elizabeth Burke From 'White Collar' Are Relationship Goals
Even though they're a couple of fictional characters, their love is something that is realistic.

1. Peter and Elizabeth have a give and give type of relationship!

That’s right, a give and give relationship. The Burke’s always give to each other. Sure they may take, but the other always gives back in return. It’s such a balanced relationship that creates the successful marriage they have.

2. Peter drinks his beer, while Elizabeth drinks her wine.

I personally love this in a relationship, because no matter what Peter will grab his wife a glass of wine and cracks open a nice cold one for himself. It also happens vice versa, Elizabeth loves to greet her husband with a beer after a long day of work! I think a couple who can enjoy their separate things is a couple in for the long haul.

3. They encourage each other constantly!

No matter what, Peter always has words of encouragement for Elizabeth and her planning and consulting jobs. Elizabeth loves to encourage Peter in times when he isn’t completely confident in himself. Encouragement is key, and wanting your significant other to succeed is a must in a successful relationship!

4. They have fun with one another

Every episode Peter and Elizabeth make the best out of every situation and are always laughing and smiling with each other! Having fun in relationships is key to a happy life.

5. Elizabeth keeps Peter in check

As much as some guys will disagree with this, you truly do need a woman in your life keep you in check a bit. Elizabeth is never nagging Peter, because she’s showing him how much she cares by making sure he doesn’t do something he regrets or something that gets him or others hurt.

6. They sure know how to still have fun in the bedroom after being married for over 10 years

In the words of Peter, “EL, you’re a tigress, absolutely amazing!” Sure you need to love a person for who they are, but I like how they show the private side of Peter and Elizabeth’s relationship and that they're having a good time there too! You have to have chemistry for a lasting relationship.

7. In every episode, even though they are only actors and fictional characters, you can feel the love that they exude for each other.

I love seeing the way they look in each other’s eyes and how they care for one another. Their love is something I strive for in life! As Peter said in the most recent episode I watched, “Marriage is for better and for worse.”
