History: Stephanie Brown was born in Gotham city to Arthur “the Cluemaster” Brown, a small time Batman villain, and Crystal Brown. She was their only child. Growing up with a villain for a father was a living hell. He was in and out of jail all the time. When he was home, he constantly abused her and her over-worked mother. Stephanie developed a deep hatred for her father and those like him as well as an admiration for Batman. The caped crusader was always there to bust her father and his fellow lowlifes and it gave her hope. Unfortunately, her father got sick of just being a small time crook and tried his hand at the big time.

Stephanie donned a homemade costume to leave Batman and the authorities clues about her father’s illegal activities. Essentially, she was spoiling his crimes. Hence the name "Spoiler". She used her gymnastic abilities to become a vigilante crime fighter and helped ruin her father’s first real bank heist. She met Batman and Robin for the first time during that heist. After smashing Robin in the face with a brick when he unmasked her, she had to be stopped from killing her father and let the Batman take him away.

She continued playing hero when her father broke out of jail, saving Robin’s life in the process and earning a thank you kiss from the Boy Wonder. She started patrolling around the suburbs of Gotham, near her home, and took up crime fighting as a regular, night-time activity. Robin and Spoiler came into regular contact and because of this, attraction between the two grew (despite him already having a girlfriend and Steph not knowing his true identity). Robin eventually broke up with his girlfriend and began dating Stephanie as Robin, still not revealing his identity.

Stephanie finds out she is pregnant by an ex-boyfriend that fled Gotham after the Earthquake. He was basically a huge douchebag. Robin was very understanding about the whole situation and even took her to Lamaze classes under an assumed name. The two became even closer. Robin was relocated to keystone during the last few months of the pregnancy but made it to the hospital, with the help of Flash, to be by her side while she delivered a healthy baby girl. Stephanie gave the baby up for adoption, without even learning the gender, so that she wouldn’t have to grow up without a father and would have the life she could never give her.

Robin went missing not long after and Batman approached her, revealing Tim Drake’s identity, and asked for her help in locating him. Batman trained Spoiler for the mission and soon she was receiving regular training from him and the Birds of Prey. She also developed a close relationship with Cassandra Cain, the second batgirl. The two trained together and bonded over how bad their fathers were. Cass always won. The two became best friends after that.

Batman stopped training her abruptly when he was charged with murder and told her to hang up her cape. He also forbade Dinah, the Black Canary, from training her as well saying Steph didn’t have the skills or talent. Around the same time, she was told that her father had died. She cut ties with Tim and went on a vigilante rampage, targeting the Riddler to gather information on her father. She eventually found out that as bad as the Cluemaster was, he did love her in his own, sick way.

Tim’s father found out about him being Robin and forced him to stop. Stephanie snuck into the Bat Cave, angry at Tim, and demanded that Batman take her on as Robin. He reluctantly agreed, possibly to lure Tim back to the mantle. And so Stephanie Brown became the fourth Robin to fight crime alongside the Dark Knight. Unfortunately, it was a short-lived career and Steph was fired for messing up on the job. In an attempt at redeeming herself, Stephanie as Spoiler inadvertently started a city-wide gang war and was captured and tortured by the Black Mask (Roman Sionis). She managed to get to safety, despite her injuries, and was believed to have died in the hospital with Batman at her bedside, holding her hand.

In reality, Dr. Leslie Thompkins took Stephanie with her to Africa to recover and get her away from the dangers of Gotham. She realized she couldn’t stay away, that she didn’t want to run, and after saving the village from some voodoo guy, she returned to Gotham and resumed her Spoiler identity which led to a confrontation with Robin and a tearful reunion.

After the Batman: RIP and Battle for the cowl story arcs Cassandra Cain stepped down as Batgirl and left the mantle to Stephanie. Now Steph has to juggle her freshman year at college, nights saving the city as Batgirl, and keeping her vigilante life secret from her mother. The original Batgirl, Barbara Gordon, catches wind of Steph's activities and agrees to be her mentor after a lot of persuading and tough decisions.

Babs as Oracle and Steph as Batgirl investigated the appearance of a drug called 'Thrill' which lead to Steph taking down the Scarecrow all by herself. This was her first bust as a solo member of the Batfamily. After that, she had to prove herself to the current Batman, Dick Grayson, and the new Robin, Damian Wayne. Damian still has his doubts, but she managed to win Dick over and Damian reluctantly agrees.

Tim comes back to town as Red Robin and is yet another hero Steph has to impress. He's not happy about finding her in the Batcave and doesn't think she can handle the job on her own. Eventually, Tim ends up needing Steph's help. The two work together to take down an assassin sent by Ra's al Ghul before she can kill Leslie Thompkins. They succeed and Tim actually tells her that he's proud of her. Surprise, surprise.

From there, Steph works closely with Detective Nick Gage of the Gotham City Police Department and they do one hell of a job keeping the city safe while Batman and Robin deal with the big stuff. Unfortunately, a virus spreads throughout Gotham and infects most of the population with nanites. Villains and heroes alike get sent after Batgirl while Oracle is kidnapped. Wendy Harris, daughter of the Calculator, fills in using the codename Proxy and takes over Oracle's role until they can get her back. Steph makes it into Calculator's base and disables the computer controlling all the nanite-zombies before busting in, defeating Calculator, and saving Oracle.

Personality: Steph’s personality has changed since the Black Mask incident. Where she was rash and impetuous before, she has now matured and calmed down a bit. She manages to pause for five seconds before jumping into a dangerous situation instead of going straight for it. She is defiant and determined with an iron will and a good heart that guides her choices, even if they aren’t always the best choices.

Not just your typical teenager, she has wisdom beyond her years and she earned it the hard way. In a way, her father's abuse fueled her need for justice and Batman refined that into a need to help people any way she can. She can be incredibly hot headed and sarcastic at times but she cares deeply for the people close to her, often going to great lengths to protect them.

She's very upbeat despite all the things she’s gone through and has fun doing what she does. Eg: kicking butt and doling out snark while she's at it. She also has a bit of daddy complex, often seeking out male role models and trying her best to prove herself to them. On the flipside of that, It's probably why she loves beating up bad guys.

Abilities, Weaknesses and Power Limitations: The only abilities Steph possesses are above-average strength for a girl of her age and fitness level, self defense and basic gymnastic skills. She can hold her own in a fight and has been known to take down criminals twice her size. She has no superhuman abilities, only athletic abilities born from intense training. When wearing the Batsuit she has access to smoke bombs, batarangs, grappling hook, and some items used for detective work (Luminol, fingerprint kit, etc).

Her physical weaknesses are typically human. She can be hurt, maimed, or killed, but not without a fight. Her tenacity might also be considered a weakness. She doesn't know when to back down or shut her big mouth.

SAMPLES
Log Sample:It didn’t matter that Stephanie had a midterm in nine hours, or that she still had some homework to do. It didn’t matter that Stephanie should be at home, sleeping, like her mother thought she was. It didn’t matter that Stephanie still had three chapters to review and summarize for tomorrow. All that mattered right now was that Batgirl had a mission to complete, and so Steph's life took a backseat to the cowl.

Oracle was guiding her through the warehouse from her tower, voice coming in clearly through earpiece but Batgirl wasn’t really listening. There was too much on her mind and she was getting sloppy. Every thug she took out got at least one hit on her before being dispatched. Oracle kept telling her to focus but she was pretty much on autopilot. Uppercut, roundhouse kick, a punch to the face so hard that it probably dislocated the guy’s jaw, all of them were pretty much reflexes. No matter how hard Batgirl tried to stay focused, she couldn’t help but think of Steph’s midterm, Steph’s homework, and Steph’s mom asleep at home. It was because of these thoughts that Batgirl was taken by surprise when Oracle's shouts of “Batgirl! behind you!” suddenly registered.

“What?” She asked as she spun around to come face to face with a gloved fist. “Oh crap--” she stumbled backward and struggled to get her footing while evading more incoming punches.

Nice move, Steph. Get you head in the game! Are you here or aren't you? Batgirl or Stephanie Brown?!

She straightened herself out, putting some distance between her and her attacker. He advanced, swinging. Mostly aiming for her face. She dodged easily now that she was focused. Now that she'd made her choice. She was Batgirl and she had a job to do.

“You guys are really going all out, aren’t you? Didn’t your mother ever tell you that it’s wrong to hit girls?” She mocked between a few punches and kicks of her own, “Especially when this girl fights back!” She punctuated her sentence with a swift kick to the side of the thug’s head. He went down hard.

“Ha. What’s next?” Steph asked, a smile spreading across her face. She was all confidence as she placed her hands on her hips, her mind briefly drifting back to the impending midterm. That brief moment was all it took. Suddenly there was a dull pain at the base of her skull and the floor rushed up to meet her. The last thing she heard before it all went black was a low voice speaking softly, “Nice of you to drop in.”

Oh Crap.

Comms Sample: [DUN DUN DUUUUUN! A masked vigilante appears on the screen. She has some very blonde hair and-- are those bat ears?]

Okay, so.... okay. We're obviously on a ship. In... space? With assigned numbers and communication devices. This would be a lot cooler if I knew the why and the how and the potential dangers. Not expecting something for nothing here, so...

Hey! I'm Batgirl. Would anyone mind giving me a tour?
