and just like that, it's Monday again
Feb. 3rd, 2020 10:03 amHELLO DARLINGS
The sky is a weird blue color today, and there's something SUPER BRIGHT hanging in it that also makes shadows on the ground, IDK IT'S KIND OF AMAZING
And I have just one class in the afternoon today, which I'm looking forward to, and the morning will be spent on doing stuff for my 1-credit online class and getting some lecture notes up for a different class, and maybe some data analysis. MY LIFE SO FUN HAH
ANYWAY. Welcome, y'all! I have hot and cold beverages for everyone -- the benefit of internet beverages is they're EXACTLY the way you like them, all the time! -- and I hope your days are treating you well. I didn't watch the Big Sportsball and Commercial Extravaganza (I mostly worked on a Tunisian crochet wrap while watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), so: If there's something you saw and think I should also go see, feel free to comment below! :D
I...may have wound some yarn over the weekend, and really kind of want to start something in my queue. My current knit has hit the lacy part, requiring concentration, so maybe it isn't the best thing to carry with me everywhere anymore?

Can you have too many projects in-process? -- asking for a friend

YES -- there is such a thing as too many plates spinning, too many balls in the air, too much going on at once

NO -- starting projects is fun! and sometimes they like to hibernate, or age like fine wine

Date: 2020-02-03 04:28 pm (UTC)...heh.
You're right, of course. But I am so excited to see all these new things! It's a rush to start new stuff!
this may be why i have a number of stories in progress, too.

then again, I may just need to be unapologetic and Proudly Starting All the Projects. Hee!

Date: 2020-02-03 04:55 pm (UTC)I *DO* manage to finish projects! I feel like I have a pretty good track record of coming back around and finishing things. Just because sometimes it takes me years doesn't mean I won't actually FINISH it.
(one of my longest-running WsIP was a BIG cross-stitched angel that I started in grad school in 2002 or so. It sat for a LONG TIME in a partially-finished state, until I picked it back up in like 2014, and I finally finished it during Christmas break in 2015. It really isn't my personal style anymore, you know? But you bet I paid the big bucks to get that motherfucker professionally framed, because it's A Lot of Goddamned Work. And I still like it, but I probably wouldn't choose to start something similar again.)

If you have not yet seen the Chris Evans et all Boston self-pakhing cah ad you should hunt it down. It's delightful.

Date: 2020-02-03 09:59 pm (UTC)I really also love how Ed ages during the anime. He really does look quite a bit older during Promised Day in comparison to when he's testing to become an alchemist.
The coloring aspect of the races though is weird. In the final picture Ed's son looks like him (eyes and hair) while his daughter like Winry. (It makes me wonder what Al and May's kids would look like, assuming they end up together and have kids)
I do still wish there'd been a way for Ed to keep his alchemy though at the end. Thankfully, there is fanfic for that.

I think it depends on what the projects are

Date: 2020-02-03 09:23 pm (UTC)And my projects I'm talking about are knitting projects - I'm in the middle of a shawl, and I have yarn for two more shawls (I'm working on a whole collection, I wear them almost every day now that I have a bunch) and a hat/cowl thing. I feel a little guilty about wanting to start a new knitting project when I already have one knit going, but maybe not guilty enough that I won't cast on soon...
