What is Personal Gain?
Personal Gain is a White Collar based muse box where Muns can bring all their White Collar muses to play.

So, does that mean only White Collar muses are allowed here?
Yes. Only White Collar canon characters and OCs directly related to the series are allowed here.

But what if my character X is in a White Collar verse? Will I be allowed to bring my character here?
Unless they're an OC, then no. For now this community is only open to White Collar muses.

Is that always going to be the rule?
For now, yes.

Can there be duplicate characters?
By all means, there can be as many Neals, Peters, Mozzies, Junes, and other canons as you want! This is a muse box. Bring 'em all.

Is there a post limit?
Flooding the com with post after post with the same character can be tedious and is generally frowned upon. Post a thread and see if you get any bites first. Be mindful that not all players are in the same Time Zone or even in the same country! Use your best judgment.

Alright. Well, what are our posts to the community supposed to look like? Is it like SWS?
No, it's not like Six Word Stories unless you want it to be. There is a small paragraph - 3 to 5 sentences - limit. Anything from six words to five sentences is approved.

Are minors - characters under the age of 17 - allowed?
Yes. However, no characters under the age of fourteen. If you have a character that is under the age of fourteen then they will not be allowed in the community. The reasoning behind that is simple: White Collar is a police-procedural show that centers around Adult characters that have no dependents. It would be very hard to inject a young character in a plausible, playable manner where that muse can constantly come back to play time and again.

June is the exception but her daughter is an adult.

What about regressing Canons and OCs? Is that allowed?
As long as the Muses are fourteen plus, regress them all you want!

What about rating?
Try to keep things in this community to a hard R. Anything that goes above this rating - anything in the NC17 - range should be 'Fade to Black' or moved to either Smutty SWS or personal journals. With the potential for muses 10-17 we want to keep anything above R to a minimum. However, allusions NC17 happens are perfectly acceptable.

Can we use the Subject line for our posts?
Yes you can! However, keep the subject short. Minimum of one word, maximum of five.

But I want the subject to be the verse name and that's really long!
Use the Music, Location, and/or Mood slots for any notes such as verses and/or 'locked to'.

Are there going to be tags?
There surely are and they are mandatory. Check out the current TAGS to familiarize yourself with them. If you think there should be a tag listed that isn't, PM the Mod.

Is there an age limit for Muns?
The Mod would like for all Muns to be of consenting age in their respective countries to make sure that all bases are covered. This is the internet and for the most part Muns have their anonymity. But, if a Mun chooses to list their personal journal in their Muse's profile and it is found out that they're under the consenting age then their Muses will be kicked from the community and not allowed to rejoin until the Mun is of age.

How about spoilers?
If your post is going to contain spoilers for upcoming or just aired episodes then please place it behind an LJ-CUT with a warning in the Cut Text that states your post contains (possible) spoilers.

When is an episode of White Collar out of that spoiler range?
Until the next episode airs. A great example: 'Withdrawal' is still in the spoiler zone until tomorrow - 07/20 - so any posts concerning the aftermath of 'Out of the Box' and the outcomes of 'Withdrawal' will have to be placed under an LJ-CUT.

Okay. Anything else I should know?
This community is all about having fun and exploring your White Collar muses. Muns can create any number of situations and plot lines, and they're not always going to be the popular choice, but it's their choice. If you don't like something another Mun is doing and feel the urge to say something about it, please keep it out of the community. It's their choice to play their character however they chose to.

The Mod is very serious about the age restrictions of both the muses and the Muns. Please do not try to push the boundaries on either or you'll find that your muses will be removed from Personal Gain until the required age limit is reached.

Try to keep Meta posts to a bare minimum. A little reaction and speculation never hurt anyone but, really, this is an RP community. If you simply must Meta then it must go behind an LJ-CUT with the CUT TEXT stating that your post is Meta.

And the most important thing: Have fun!
