Okay - New rule. If you are going to sneak up and friend me when I have no idea who you are or where you came from, please leave a comment. Tell me how you found my journal and why I should friend you back. Portions of my journal are friends only and other portions are set to specific filters - just because I friend you doesn't mean you are reading everything. Filter access is based on what subject is under the filter, how you might be involved, and how well I know you.
Personal Info: Tau Peristera de Magdalene (that’s me), ordained High Priestess of Magick and consecrated Bishop of the Universal Gnostic Tradition, has been practicing magick in various forms and studying the occult since 1985. A practitioner of the Land-Hand Path, a sex magician, a Luciferian, a Thelemite, and a student of the Mysteries, I have held many offices and been known as many things during those 20+ years; however, I primarily consider myself, simply, a Magician. I was a member of the OTO for 13 years and a local body master for 4 years as well as an ordained deacon and practicing priestess within the EGC (currently resigned from both groups). I am an ordained High Priestess of Magick and, on 4/30/2005, was consecrated a Gnostic Bishop in the Doinel line and the lines of succession held by Tau Michael Bertiaux. Current studies include herbalism, tantra, tarot, thelemic and ceremonial ritual, yoga, energy work and healing, the points-chaud initiatory system, and general experimental magick.
I currently reside in Athens GA with my husband and 12-year-old daughter. I am also stepmother to a wonderful 16-year-old stepson. My primary goals include new studies in various branches of magick, exploration of the points-chaud system, adventures in various forms of art, and serving the local community as a High Priestess of Magick and Bishop of the Gnostic Mysteries.
I recently completed a double BA in Psychology and Religion with an emphasize on witchcraft, occultism, and the psychology of religion. I am applying to PhD programs in Transpersonal Psychology. I would like to focus some of my graduate work on religious cults in the U.S., forensic investigations of "cult crimes," urban tribalism. I also spend a great deal of time translating occult practices into Jungian psychology and vice versa.
