Breath From Your Hoo-Hoo!

I was given some unfortunate news yesterday by Stacy Haiduk’s husband, Brad Tatum. It seems to now be “making the rounds” on Twitter and various soap opera websites.

Sadly, TPTB at “Young And Restless” have not picked up her contract and Stacy will be leaving the show within 3 weeks.

I’m PISSED. First a complete dismissal of her by the voters for the Daytime Emmy’s, now this slap in the face. Personally, I think there is a lot of politics involved. Soap websites are speculating there is a money issue (why keep a more expensive actress when you can bring in a bunch of no-names to work cheaply?). She’s been received excellent reviews and praise from critics since she started on the show, and even those she works closely with on the show have done nothing but praise her in their interviews. Some websites have actually gone as far as to say she's actually helped carry the show this past year and brought it nothing but great publicity, despite lousy writing.

If she can't stay on Y&R, I just hope either another soap, or a better gig comes her way. She deserves it.

Other people may have already come up with this idea, but abydosdork thought it would be an interesting way to keep SGA interesting as a kind of AU (or virtual season) including Weir playing an integral part of the show (aka not in the background and not as a reocurring charcter). Hence, this poll. This will be a public entry so if you know anyone on LJ who might be interested in a AU SGA season 4, as well as writing and/or making artwork for it, please ask them to come and vote. I'm x-posting this to john_elizabeth and atlantis, but it won't be x-posted anywhere else.

The AU SGA season 4 would include all "ships" (S/W, S/T, etc.) and slash (m/m and f/f) and would be open to anyone. This is kind of just a "fact finding" poll to see what interest there might be before anything else is created, etc.

I've decided to go strictly Friends Only and I'll be making a banner today/tonight to reflect it.

In light of some things I've gotten in my e-mail today, one about an LJ friend who's no longer on LJ (damn it), thanks to her folks attempting to ruin her life, and that I'm already hearing that, though the fandom is still completely new and shiny, there are already John/Elizabeth (Sheppard/Weir) haters out there being nasty, I've decided it's the best course.

With the John/Elizabeth fandom, I'm not buying into it or putting up with bullshit nastiness that I see pervade Stargate fandom. This show is only 3 episodes old. I'm staying in my little, shiny, shipper world on this one. Too much nastiness in the Sam/Janet fandom, WAY too much with Sam/Jack fandom being infiltrated by nasty Sam/Pete people (*shudder*).

If you suddenly decided, like many of us already have (and the number seems to keep growing), that John/Elizabeth (Sheppard/Weir) is the ship you like best, feel free to trot on over to john_elizabeth community. We are a fun bunch over there. There is now also a John/Elizabeth (sheppard_n_weir) Yahoo group and they, too, are a rowdy bunch of idiots. *g*
