So. While running in a VERY CAREFUL manner, I accidentally tripped. And I ended up on my back in a very embarrassing heap, my head connecting intimately with the CONCRETE FLOOR that it seems to have been crushing on for years.
( One might think that it's unlikely my head loves the floor, but it's actually quite simple why. )TITLE: Chemical Imbalance.
SUMMARY: It's called pheromones. Ah, crap. Apparently, it was just a perfume. Boo!
NOTES: So. Because
kikachan posted this
link to the KKM novel translation, the fact that Yuuri is actually Obliviously Gay™ hasn't stopped floating through my head. Add that with the hurtses and the pain killers and the PAIN and. Well. That. SO! It is disgustingly fluffy and too-WTF-short! to be coherent but, uhm . . . I AM HURT SO LET ME BE, OKAY? I am seriously abusing the capslock key today.
"You smell good," Yuuri says wonderingly, taking a sniff at Konrad before moving away. "Really good. Is that a perfume?"
Konrad just answered him; Yuuri knows this because he's watching Konrad's lips but he can't quite focus on the words. It takes him a moment to realize he's practically leaning on Konrad's shoulder – Konrad's worried face dangerously close to his own – before a blush steals stealthily over his face, an embarrassed laugh escaping his lips.
"Really good," he repeats, moving away. He coughs. "Have I said that?"
"Yes, you did. Heika?" Konrad is starting to look like he's figured something out. "Yuuri, my mother . . . was she the one who told you to make me wear this shirt?"
Yuuri inhales deeply once before answering but he somehow forgot the question by that time, so all that came out was, "Uhm . . . Huh?"
"This shirt, Yuuri. Did my mother touch it?"
And Konrad's lips have started twitching just the slightest bit upwards and had Yuuri not suddenly found that
exceptionally pleasing, he might have had the mind to be curious about it.
"She, uh . . ." It's quite a task to remember. "She kinda glomped it, actually, said it was your color, you'd look great in it, she has such handsome sons. You smell
really good, Konrad. I like it."
Konrad blinks.
And then he smiles like Yuuri has just told him a secret.
He lifts a hand to carefully brush Yuuri's bangs away, saying, "Thank you, Yuuri," and Yuuri leans into the touch and smiles back.
He's not smart enough to understand this very well but Konrad's here, so it'll be okay. He'll ask Konrad about it later maybe, when Konrad isn't smelling so good, when he isn't looking at Yuuri like Yuuri has just scored the homerun that won them the greatest game of the century.
