Title: Goodbye, Love Village
Author/artist: [archiveofourown.org profile] poemnumbertwo
Fandom: Seventeen (+ many fandom crossovers)
Characters/ship: Wonwoo/Dino, other background relationships
Rating: T
Summary:
Eight love-seekers head to this season’s Love Village in the mountains of Yeongwol. Let fluttering hearts begin anew.

This is kind of stretching the definition of epistolary! It uses Reddit posts, tweets, production notes, texts, etc. to craft the world of the fictional dating show "Love Village," which is sort of like Terrace House with different characters joining the village to casually meet new friends and potentially fall in love. This is one of the cleverest fics with the most creative use of multimedia I've ever seen, but the core of the fic is just a great story. It weaves together a ton of different Kpop idols into this fictional world that immediately feels so believable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Even if you're only somewhat familiar with Seventeen, you will be able to enjoy this fic!

I read a couple of epistolary books lately that were a lot of fun - The Appeal and The Twyford Code, both by Janice Hallett. They're both murder mysteries, the first one told mostly through emails, and the second through letters dictated into a voice app - quite meta and self-aware and with a dry sense of humour. Recommended if you like murder mysteries and puzzles.

Title: Wrong (Right) ID

Author: Alette on AO3

Fandom: Astro

Characters/ship: Eunwoo/Bin, background MJ/Jinjin and Rocky/Sanha

Rating: Ao3 T

Summary (from original author): Lee Dongmin is a freshman just starting out university life. He gets a message from a random number that turns out to be worthwhile

Why I recommend it: This is possibly the most popular fic on the Astro tag, so it's one of the first ones I read, but it's a fun slow burn and also a really fun text/chat fic, full of intrigue (and a few cute selfies and included), and with lots of intrigue and romance and drama. I have reread it many times and if you want some cute college AU times, this is the fic for you!
