Yeaaah I'm not posting much these days since I've just been... drained of anything useful. Health continues to decline, and often I can only just BARELY sit on the couch to play FFXIV (and then I'm usually not actually "enjoying" it, but being in pain from doing something entertaining is better than being in pain and staring at the ceiling above the bed).
I keep getting half an idea for a story or whatnot, but the rest of it just never materializes. I've been drawing little things for people here and there, unrequested, just random "hey I drew this because I thought you'd find it amusing", of questionable quality, when stuff isn't too distracting. Tried to really draw an actual picture over the three-day weekend (spring break!) since FFW's challenge for the last period has been "cut" and I was like "....Well, I gotta do something Sydney/Hardin for that one." XD But I couldn't think of anything to write with that that I hadn't already written before, so possible illustration of any number of fanfic scenes I've written? (Note: not exactly SFW but not exactly NOT SFW since nothing's showing except some wounds. I'd consider it suggestive but possibly only because I know they're both enjoying it.) Didn't even have the spoons to find references and I don't know if I'm ever going to properly finish/ink/color, but it's a full page image that has some tricky angles so I guess it's something.
I gave in and bought the full version of FFXIV the weekend before because it was half off and I was tired of hitting the gil/inventory limits every five minutes. So now I have an apartment (in Mist, ward 17 because I like prime numbers and thus it would be easy to remember - and then they assigned me apartment 34, and I cracked up because if I'm already remembering ward 17, that too will be easy to remember!) and it's unfurnished aside from some flowerpots so I can grow things, potentially things to feed the chocobo.
Also have been working on my relic weapon, and everything was going really fast, like I'm at the books of tasks you have to complete and I was doing one or two of those per day... until I got to one where I have yet to ever see one of the FATEs spawn, and one of the others I'd seen pop up multiple times and then end before I could get there. Apparently you're supposed to keep some NPCs alive, but they're extremely weak, so if you're not right there when that one spawns, they die within 15 seconds. :P Everything else in the books has been easy, no problem at all... until these two that are impossible.
Between that, constantly being in pain while trying to sit up to game, and the fact that once you get to Ishgard none of your mounts can fly anymore while you're dealing with terrain with tons of cliffs that you thus have to go AROUND, at painfully slow speeds since you haven't unlocked faster mount speeds in those areas yet? Suddenly I'm not actually having fun and it's pissing me off. I'd just go do a bunch of crafting/gathering job quests but they keep sending me into those same areas and thus they too are pissing me off.

Congratulations on your apartment! Now that I can trade you things I'll have to make you a care package - gear, some gil, and maybe a lil housewarming present ♥
Is there anything in particular you want for your apartment? Obvs exterior furniture is a no go but I have all crafters at 90 so I should be able to make most craftable furnishings you might want! (there's a handy website here that you can use to look at possible furnishings.)
♥
(ETA: yeah at the beginning of each expansion the new area is locked for flying and mount speed! Good news is that you can unlock flying in each zone as you locate aether currents and complete the aether current quests. If you have a friend with a multi-person flying mount they can fly you around to zoom through the aether current collection, just have to land now and then to check compass direction (can't check while mounted).)

Oh well, I did other stuff. Like I started Rogue (fun and fits the character) and Dark Knight (whoa is this quest line basically Vagrant Story fanfiction or what? Fray is pretty much quoting the same things Hardin told Callo about the Dark...) and got up to speed on Gatherer classes. And to the book phase of relic weapon, the real issue there is obtaining grade 1 materia to start because I have already gotten so much alexandrite and a ton of grade 2-4 materia. This would be one reason I started Rogue, I'll have to use low-level equipment for awhile. :D
And heh, thanks for the offer, and that link - that website looks reaaally handy, I really had only looked at the stuff you're allowed to preview. As for stuff I might want... you would not believe the conversations I have had in my head with my character about furnishing the apartment. Like, she still hasn't wrapped her head around this "hero" stuff, or even the idea that she's not still just living a vagrant mercenary life these days. Honestly all she wanted was flowerpots to grow stuff (LL feels like her vibe, but she spent too much time in Gridania to not learn to love plants) and a stable to train and feed her chocobo (which is now deep orange). So it's like...
Me: If you actually want to put those flowerpots by the windows where they'll get sunlight, you need something to set them on.
Zeph: Eh. I'll just get some packing crates. Maybe pick up a barrel somewhere.
Me: Zeph. This is an apartment. It's all yours. You can buy or make stuff to put things on, and sit on! Where are you going to sit if you just get crates and barrels to set things on?
Zeph: You can sit on crates too! Crates are so useful, it's awesome.
Me: And where are you going to sleep?
Zeph: Uh, on the floor?
Me: ZEPH.
Zeph: WHAT? I'll use a blanket and stuff!
Me: You have an APARTMENT. It's YOURS. You can actually have furniture and be comfortable.
Zeph: Um... so I should pick up one of those utility cots from Maelstrom HQ?
Me: *mentally facepalming*
I did pretty easily talk her into getting a couple partitions with plants up top (because plants), and made a nice fireplace and table and bedside stand (with candles and an assortment of bottles on top, lol), and there is now a rug on the floor and a couple mahogany screens to give the bed area some privacy... after I talked her into making an actual bed. XD
...I think I have convinced her that maybe she deserves a really big ridiculously cushy bed, because just because she can go on sleeping under bushes out in the wilderness doesn't mean she should have to, and wouldn't a nice bath be something fun to come home to? Those are really the only things I've seen so far that I haven't been able to craft with my lv53-ish classes. XD (I even think I have all the materials for the Oasis/Glade canopy beds and baths - haven't decided which - just my craftmanship stat isn't high enough to actually craft them. :P So, uh, help with that would be appreciated!)
...And now I am looking over this site and going "No, Zeph, no, we are not going to furnish your entire apartment with tonberries and other monsters >_<" My alt will not have this problem and if I ever get an apartment for her it's going to be all sylphic/foresty stuff and that cherry blossom bed. XD
