...I’m really fucking annoyed at the misguided crusaders who targeted a shitload of LJ’s fandom communities, a novel discussion group, SEVERAL RECOVERY SUPPORT GROUPS, and assorted other completely unrelated and innocent groups and people AND somehow got Livejournal to delete them.

But mostly, I’m pissed off at Livejournal. Not only did they go through and delete a bunch of comms and journals with NO warning, thus violating their own TOS; not only did they do it at the say-so of some conservative “watchdog” group no one has ever fucking heard of before now; not only did they do it in record time when we can’t get them to do a DAMN thing about, say, STALKERS or pro-ana comms that encourage young girls to literally starve themselves; they REFUSE TO ANSWER US OR MAKE ANY KIND OF GODDAMNED STATEMENT ABOUT WHY THEY’RE DOING THIS, WHAT RECOURSE WE HAVE AND WHY THIS PARTICULAR INTEREST GROUP HAS MORE SAY IN WHAT GOES ON IN LIVEJOURNAL THAN ITS OWN CONSTITUENCY.

I’m so disgusted that I’m actually thinking hard about taking the trouble to copy my entire journal archives elsewhere and start journaling from there. It’s years of stuff and would be a real pain in the ass, but I’m feeling pretty motivated to abandon ship right now. I mean, first the ClingyStalkerBitch LJ’s staff won’t help me with, and now this?

I’d never be a target for the deletions anyway; that’s not the point. The point is that Livejournal has screwed a lot of its users without explanation or apology, and I don’t want to trust my personal thoughts to the care of a company that does that.
