Well that was fun

After 4 mounths I have returned to continue being boring.
Also, as i'm sure u noticed, I've given up the idea of documenting anything as a bad joke. After my second day I got bored with writing about the airport. if something especially exciting happens I may be inclined to tell u all but apart from that u'll all have to put up with long lapses in any writing from me and even when I write it'll all be at about this level of interest.
Since my last entry a few things of note have occured. I've met a disturbing amount of famous ppl at the airport (a list will be included at the end of this entry), I celebrated my one year aniversery with my girlfriend Jess (there you got a mention now stop bugging me woman!!) that's about it, so I'll write when I write and till then just assume I'm dead or boring, which ever u prefer.

The list of famous ppl I've seen/met:
-The chick who played Tess in Mcloud's daughters
-John Howard (the actor not the PM)
-Jimmy Barnes
-Peter Brock (I actually serched his bag coz he had a tool kit in there that he wasn't meant to bring in)
-Isabelle Lucus (the chick who plays Tash on Home and Away)
-Chirs Hemsworth (the guy who plays Kim on Home and Away, it turns out he and the aformentioned Miss Lucus are a thing)

Well that's it till next I can be bothered to write. Bye

Day 2 Induction Part two

And once again, around the great anphibian we gathered waiting for out short but well rounded guide to show. He was a bit late today but it really didn't matter coz we just sat around getting to know each other a bit more. Anyway he was late because he hurt himself getting off the train this morning so from now on he will be named Hob Elly (Hobbly).

So Hob took us down to ID again to get us temp passes into the terminal. We proceded to what is so far my least favorite part of the routine of our day, the metal detectors. For those of you who read yesterdays edition you'll know that my boots were setting off the detectors every time I tried to get to the training room. So today i decided to do the smart thing and wear shoes with no metal in them, or so I thought at least. It turns out that my shoes, which have no metal in the eyelets or in the caps or on the outside of them anywhere, have enough metal in them (who the hell knows where) to set off the sensors so once again a day of taking on and off my shoes followed.

Once I got passed the sensors we started our mornings lessons with how to identify and handle Dangerous Goods. while not the most mentally challenging activity it was pretty interesting, what with all the acids and explosives and other such materials we got to look at. The rest of the day was review of the stuff I wasn't allowed to tell you all yesterday and some boring paperwork to do with uniforms and that type of stuff.

So tomorrow I pick up my uniform and Monday becomes my first day of actually securing the airport.

Air travel will never be the same again.

Day 1 Inducion Part one

Well that was interesting.

Waking up a eaily just to make sure u make it to work on time has got to be the worst thing about new jobs. This one in particular. Try 4:30am wake up after polonged periods of 9:30 onwards wake ups. As you can probably tell I'm not amazingly happy about this.

Anyway now for my day. I got up to the Airport bout an hour eairly so I wondered around for a bit just getting my bearings and stuff like that. As it came time for me to meet up with the trainer I headed for the giant Amphibian that inhabits the Terminal, there were 7 other trainees there. We were meet by a man more horizontal than vertical. Nice guy but big. Our first great and wonderful task was to get visitors passes due to the fact that in the great wisdom of Sydney Airport they put our training rooms in side the Customs Sterille zone. Basically meaning we had to do a security cheack every time we came back from a break. When you dicided to wear Steele caps to work, as I tend to do, this is bad. They always set off the scanners and because it's a national security thing they can't just take my word for it, that it was just my boots.

Anyway other than my boots consistently holding up our training it was generally just procedural stuff that I'm not allowed to tell u about anyway.

I'll definetly be getting up later tomorrow.
See you then.
I hope.

It's been awhile and now i'm back

So it's been awhile since I acctually used this thing but don't worry I've been keeping up to date with all my friends journals. Anyway I'm back and inspired to write due to a book I just finished reading. It's called The Daily Adventures of Mixerman. Cheak it out at www.mixerman.net

Well tomorrow I'm starting a new Job at Sydney airport as Security, so what I'm gonna do is basically copy his idea but put my own spin on it by updating once every couple of days maybe more regularly depending on what's been happening.

As in mixermans book I'll be changing names to protect the innocent and not so innocent alike.

Basically I'm attempting a foray into writing. If it works hopefully many will read, however if it fails then only you guys will really know.

p.s. I'll probably be starting a new journal for this stuff at some point so stay tuned for further info.

It's all About who you know

My computer works much good now.
I finally got it to work on my home network and the internet last night after in stalling win 2000, much to my brothers dismay (he's a linux programer and tech support dude so I forgive him). The stupid thing (computer) wouldn't recognise my wireless network card so I coudn't access my server which meant no internet from win 2000 for me, and seeing most of my favourite programs needed to download files from the net to install it was extremely pissing me off. Well it's all fixed now so no more bitching from me.

Have fun y'all

Old Star Wars was better

I've seen it and as a stand alone movie or part of the new trilogy it was in one word 'excellent'. However I still stand by my long held belief that any one of the old trilogy (pre special addition) would shite allover the entire new trillogy put together.
There were many parts that as a trilogy worked but that as a part of the six film series really didn't work I'm not gonna spoil it for anyone yet but I will place my grevences up later for those willing to still read my stuff.
This was the best of the new trilogy but it still was lacking, no offence to those who enjoy it.
