New Local Blogger

I am looking for people to interview for my new blog.

If you walk along the edge of normal, if you have peered through the cracks of reality and seen something else, if you believe in something strange, if you consider yourself unconventional through conscious choice or inherent nature, or if you know someone who fits that description (who isn’t yours truly), let me know. I will write about it. & I won’t be snarky.

Yours,
Malapert

Cottonwoolfairy Hats

Hello!

I've recently opened a shop online selling traditional pointy witch hats,
and I'm currently posting the info around in case anyone might be interested.

A while ago I became frustrated with the lack of proper pointy hats available
(beyond the fake plasticy ones you can buy at Hallowe'en).
I started making felt hats as an experiment, and enjoyed it so much
that I decided to start selling them.

The hats are felted from various different wools:
unbleached and undyed natural colours such as Black Welsh and Bluefaced Leicester,
as well as soft Merino wool dyed in any number of colours.
Often I decorate them with brightly coloured silks, buttons, hatbands etc.
However, these hats are made to be worn - The felt is hardy and weather resistant
and will easily withstand being sat upon, dropped in puddles, stolen by toddlers etc!
As such, they are ideal for wearing out and about.

There are several hats up for sale on my website at the moment - I hope you like them!
More usually though I work to commissions, so please feel free to
e-mail me with your own designs at:
cottonwoolfairy@hotmail.co.uk

Best Wishes,
Imogen Rush

Housing search, and local groups

Housing
Hello all! I'm moving to the area and I'm looking for a household to move in with or housemates with whom to form a household.

If you're interested in finding a pagan housemate and you're located in the western suburbs (Aurora, Batavia, Lisle, Naperville, Wheaton, etc.), please check out my craigslist ad. If you're still interested after that, please email me and we can chat!
http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/…

Local groups
I'm also interested in any information about open circles, workshops, resources, or meetups in the area. I've generally been ecclectic. I did a lot of work with the pagan student group at my undergraduate institution. Later, I went through a few sessions of training in the Feri tradition before it became evident that I was not in the right frame of mind to commit properly to the training (at the time).

If there are any events or groups in the area I'd love to hear about them.

Thanks in advance, and blessed be!

New here.

Merry Meet.
I am 21 and have been a practicing Wiccan for 2 years now. Though, I have read Wiccan/Pagan books since I was like 14. When I first started practicing, I was living in North Carolina with my husband, who is a Marine, where he was stationed. I hate the bible belt. The closest "New Age" store was 5 hours away. I felt totally out of place. I'm so glad that I'm back in Chicago area where atleast Paganism isn't that scarce. I'm looking for a coven, and some good magickal friends.

Feel free to add me, or ask any questions.

Fundraser for Diana's Grove .... if you ever wanted to stop a logger, now's the time

Chicago Mysteries presents:
In Service to the Sacred:
A Fundraiser to Save the Land at Diana's Grove
Presented as an Earth Spiritualists of Chicago Main Event

July 19th, 2008, 6pm-midnight
2032 W. Fulton, Chicago, IL 60612

Do you value the environment?
What if the choices you made could save sacred land?
You can make a difference.

Right now, in the foothills of the ancient Ozark Mountains, a forest being razed to the ground. Half of a total of 880 acres is already a wasteland of dust after the devastation of clear-cutting. This unsustainable logging practice threatens this beautiful land, the habitat of hundreds of species of plants and animals, and the local watershed.

This land borders Diana's Grove, a nature sanctuary and retreat center dedicated to personal and spiritual growth that has touched many lives here in Chicago, and in earth-based communities around the country.

You can help save this land

Please join us for a festive evening of fundraising to generate abundance, both financial and energetic, to help protect this sacred land. You can make an ecological difference in the world with your actions and choices.

For over 15 years, the land of Diana's Grove has stood to support the sacred work of hundreds of people, as well as rescued hundreds of dogs. Diana's Grove offers Mystery School and other retreats that foster personal growth, community building, and leadership development using earth-based spiritual values, practices, and processes.

Make a change in the world that you can see

Right now you can directly save the land; every donation helps to save a tree, and benefit this endangered environment. Your smallest donation matters. All profits generated from this fundraiser will go towards the Diana's Grove land fund.
