A Wisdom of Owls

after dusk

darkening skies
bring quiet calm
over the forest
save the
hooting of
wisened owls
who rise to
meet the
peace-filled
night

in the other part of the forest, 
Owlette was always trying to avoid falling frozen
waffles that sometimes caught on the branch and
often messed up her feathers. 
Owlie thought they were good with syrup.

one night, Owlie saw a flying saucer. and then found a 
Christmas candy right behind him on another branch.
after that, he moved to 
another part of the forest. and never told anybody,
except for Owlette, who screamed 8 times in his ear,
which paralyzed him with love.
