My grandpa was such a great guy, he was the old guy that acted like he was still young. Even when he was in the hospital and at home on his death bed he wanted to get up and get out of bed and go outside. He was the type of grandpa that had the deep voice and the smile that brightened up your day, when i was little I remember going to his house in San Diego for 4th of July and him giving me a racoon stuffed animal and watching the beautiful fireworks going off and him, my grandma, my sister, and my parents all laughing. Even when he was sick he had so much will power in him but his body just wouldnt let him get up, he had so much strength inside just his body was holding him down. This weekend i went to San Diego and today I went to a celebration instead of a funeral and he made this video in 1999 before he had surgery on his knee and he told everyone not to be sad, to drink, laugh, and have a wonderful and once we will meet agian. One of my grandpa's friend said to my grandma, "Wayne(my grandpa's first name) was such a good friend, and to have friends you need to be a good friend." She said this because at the celebration today there were probably 200 people that came from Michigan and Texas just for him. My grandpa was a really special guy to a lot of people, and today people would come up to me and would ask, "So how did you know Wayne?" I just smiled and said "He was my grandpa." And they would always say i'm sorry. I don't need anyone saying they are sorry, my grandpa lived his life and one person asked my mom if it was to late to become like my grandpa, and she said it's never too late. My grandpa made me realize that life is great but there is an even greater life after it, and to live this one on earth and be waiting for the one after death. I love my grandpa very much and I miss him, and everyone don't try to get out of seeing your grandparents and pretending your sick, believe me you regret it sooo much after, believe me I know. I did do that and now I feel so horrible about it. I hope everyone had a good weekend and thank you if you read this.
