Saturday breakfast rolls: I'm not sure what to call these, which are the product of combining at least two recipes and ignoring the huge amounts of sugar in the originals - vanilla rolls? anyway, strong white flour, milk and water heated together, the yeast started in some of this, and some butter softened (doesn't have to be completely melted) in the rest + a teaspoonful of vanilla extract. Very nice.
Today's lunch: whiting fillets coated with seasoned breadcrumbs, panfried in butter and finished off with samphire sauce, served with a salad of cos lettuce cut into chunks, sprinkled with the juice of half a lime and some avocado oil, salt and pepper (possibly two heads of lettuce was a bit too much, but they looked so lovely and springlike).
No bread made.
