osmocote hungover

Best soccer ever.

I had an awesome night last night.
I was invited by my friend Sawao to Too Cute in Isesaki. It is a huge Mexican themed izakaya, where he is the chief bar man.
They had a special World Cup night on. Where you payed 1500 yen to get in, and for that price, got a meal, and cheap drinks.

Sawao kept giving me free beer anyhow.

I was the only Aussie there, but Shanon and Hudson, being from New Zealand and The Soloman Islands respectively, became honorary Aussies for the night.

We stood and sung the national anthem in front of 200 Japanese, and they applauded when we had finished.

During half-time I was the most popular man in the place. EVERYONE wanted to have their photo taken with the Aussie.

After full-time I wasn't so popular.

When Australia scored their first goal, I received an amusing email from Yukako.

When Australia scored their second goal, I received and even more amusing email from Yukako.

Sometime around then, either between the first and second goal, or after the second goal, the Japanese team decided to bring on a replacement. I'm pretty sure it was after the second goal.

Everyone in the bar started chanting his name and cheering. I waited until the chanting had died down, and let out a perfectly timed (even if I do say so myself) OSO SUGI YO!! (IT'S TOO LATE!!). Minutes later, Australia scored their third goal, and all the little Japanese girls started crying, LITERALLY!

Then Yukako called to drunkenly tell me she hates me and wants to kill me. (She called me to apologise this morning).

After the match everyone came and shook my hand, and offered their congratulations. A few guys tried to give me the hard squeeze, but I wasn't too concerned.

I got home about three this morning.

Other highlights of the night were Shanon consistently saying things to his wife, Hiroko, and Chikasa (Sawao's girlfriend), then going to the toilet, leaving me to explain such words as "lactating" and "quickie".
